Brushing our teeth is something ALL of us should do every day. What we use to brush our teeth with, is what the topic is for today - a regular toothbrush or a modern day spinbrush. So tell us…..

What do you use to brush your teeth with?
If you use a regular toothbrush, have you tried a spinbrush?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I use a regular old fashion toothbrush. I’ve never tried a spinbrush, because I think I wouldn’t like it - maybe one day I’ll give it a try. I used to buy a spinbrush for my girls when they were little and they liked it at the time.

Regular here !!! I have tried it but I’m bad I wouldn’t let it do the work I did it anyway which defeats its purpose- I never could get use to it after about 4 times trying it and gave up !! My dentist wishes I would go to it as I’m too aggressive with my brushing !!!

Have one of those spinbrushes that I bought a few years ago. Only the circular part on the end twirls and it seems more like a gimmick then something that actually does a good job. I went back to using my regular toothbrush.

I think 'spinbrush' is a brand name of the one shown on the left side of the picture in post #1. Mine looks exactly like that one. Perhaps other companies make their own version.

Electric tooth brush for me for a long time and won’t go back to regular. Take it when I travel too.

Dentist agrees with me too less plague. I find the normal to soft now. Still have all my teeth too.

I give all my free tooth brushes to the food bank. It is expensive to buy the heads of the electric toothbrush though that’s for sure.

I'm not sure what a spinbrush is.
I use a Sonicare toothbrush, but it doesn't spin. Have for years.
Traveling we take battery powered Colgate.
They vibrate, but don't spin.

I have all my teeth (other than 4 that were pulled when I was 12 before putting on braces)

If by a 'spinbrush' you mean an electric or power toothbrush, yes, I use a power toothbrush, a Sonicare vibrating brush, not an Oral B, which spins. Sonicare vibrates thousands of times a minute. I like that it, and probably most power brushes, signals with a slight extra vibration every 30 seconds over 2 minutes, the time which is considered a good brushing. It holds a very long charge, maybe 3 weeks. My dentist recommends a power brush as well as Waterpik use.

This, exactly. I do take a manual brush along when I travel just in case I run into some glitch with the charger. I have also tried those battery powered units Slo is talking about but it didn’t impress me. Our whole household switched to the power brushes 20 years ago when the dentist recommended it for DS’s emerging permanent teeth. Kids do a much better job with the power brushes than manual.

You do tend to find things I have never heard of. I use a Sonicare electric toothbrush like my Dentist recommends. No spin head on it. Got this one as a Christmas present last year as my old Sonicare stopped taking a charge after about 30 years of use!

Spinbrush? Is this another incorrect word the Brits use for an item, like lorry instead of the correct word, truck? :D

I use a Quip. It is battery powered so I can take it everywhere. It uses only one AAA battery, so is more slender than most electrics. I like the fact that it times the brushing so you know you have done a complete job. Also, they send you a replacement brush head, battery and toothpaste when you should replace it.

I have used a Sonic Care electric toothbrush for years. The only time I use a regular toothbrush is when I travel.

I use an Oral B electric toothbrush. We switched somewhere between 5 and 10 years ago. My dental hygienist has told me she sees the difference. I occasionally use a manual when traveling, although I still usually take the electric with me. I also keep a manual one at the office just in case I want to brush after lunch.

I don't have a spin brush, but I use my Sonicare 100% of the time. I love it and trips to the dentist are so much easier since it does such a good job on tartar control.
