The weighted blanket has become a very popular and trendy item. Starting in 2016, the sales on these blankets started growing and growing and now many companies make them and sell them. Many claim these blankets help them sleep, and many claim that they help comfort those with Autism and mental illness. So, how about you?
Do you use a weighted blanket?
Does a family member or friend use a weighted blanket?
If yes…does it help you or them sleep or give comfort?
(multiple choice)
For Me……I do not use a weighted blanket - I think I’d be to hot underneath it. I do love the idea of it though. My DD20 uses a weighted blanket, and she loves it and she says it definitely helps her sleep. The one thing I dislike about it, is cleaning it - not a fun task. For those that don’t know, the weight is inside the blanket connected with many many ties - you need to untie it, wash the blanket, and then retie it back in there hoping you didn’t tie it wrong (like buttoning a shirt wrong). I will be doing this task once again when DD20 comes home from school. Can she do this herself? Of course, but I get joy out of helping her out when she comes home and she’s always very grateful. It’s easy doing things for people when they are grateful.
