I’d say above average. I went with 6. Try to keep it clean and organized. Only 2 of us, I shop frequently, and keep leftovers only 2-3 days max, so it’s not always packed.

On a typical day, probably a 3 at best. This weekend, we cleaned out a lot of food, so maybe we have a chance at a 4 or 5 this week. :rotfl:

Ours stay neat for about 20 Minutes after shopping and putting away the groceries and them DS hit with his friends and its all downhill from there.

Some people have the most organized refrigerator.
On a scale of 1-8, with 1 being a mess, and 8 being super organized, how would you rate the organization of your refrigerator?

For Me…..I’ll give my refrigerator a 6.
Everything has its place, but I’d like for it to be better.

None of their fridges actually look like that either. Nice staging for the picture though. Why buy egg bins when the carton they come in makes an excellent bin?

Yea, I thought the same thing a staged picture to sell something. Like how someone might stage their home when selling. Might look good in a picture but not really practical for everyday use. When you return from the grocery store, probably have more things to put away then at other times. Or if planning for a party, you will likely have more things that need to be stored.

That's a clear sign of some sort of illness....

I picked 4 because while the our fridge looks like a hot mess to an outsider, it's actually organized to the people who live in my house. We know where everything is and goes.

With just two of us now, the freezer and refrigerator are mostly empty.
Veggies and entrees for emergency quick meals make up the bulk of what is in our freezer. Most from Schwans (now in the process of changing their name to Yelloh) and the identical packaging makes it a little harder to find what you are looking for.
Meats, we buy on a weekly basis. I guess the jury is out on how long you should keep things in the freezer. Google searches seem to hover around 2 to 3 months, but I never understood buying, say, a side of beef that was going to take you 6 to 9 months to eat. My Aunts and Uncles all had big families, minimum 5 kids, but even there the meat still left in the freezer at 6 months ended up getting fed to the dog because if was so freezer burned.

Mine doesn’t have a lot of stuff in it, so there isn’t much to organize. The only time it is formally organized is around Thanksgiving when I need to maximize the space. It’s not a mess, just not much there.

Mine is super organized, but it's really easy since there's hardly anything in it. Sodas are grouped together thoug and certain things always go in certain spots.

I went with 4. It's sort of organized in that the very top shelf is for my stuff (things hubby wouldn't eat if you held a gun to him) Next shelf is sort of joint and then the big shelf for pitchers, jugs of milk. The veggie keeper is all mine and the other sort of veggie keeper is where hubby keeps his beer. There are probably a number of items on my shelves that are expired but in most cases it's things like pickles that don't really expire for years. I clean out my parts about every 6 months when hubby fusses that he knows there are expired things there. He takes the expiration dates as absolute last date, I take them as a sort of suggestion.

We have a side-by-side fridge/freezer. Fridge is fairly organized -- everything has a consistent place.

I've given mine a 5. (It was closer to the "its a mess" last week, but I cleaned it out over the weekend.) Everything goes back in the same general area, so I know where to look and (now) you can see what's in there because there's a reasonable amount, not stuffed full. I have a couple of bins -- mainly for produce or odd-sized things. I can't get into taking my eggs out of one carton and putting them into a different nicer-looking carton and stuff like that.

I said a 6. We have a new, larger fridge and I LOVE it. It has french doors and the freezer is on the bottom. There is a system as to what goes where, and it's mostly followed (although I seem to play Fridge-Tetris every couple of days). We label and date all leftovers (which mostly go in the back-up fridge in the dining room) and DD/SIL clear those out about every 2 weeks so we don't have too many "forgotten" things in the back of the fridge. I can't tell you how much I love the new fridge and am kicking myself for having waited so long to replace the old, side-by-side fridge made by RCA!

I like to keep the refrigerator fairly organized. DW just shoves the existing items to the back and puts the new stuff up front.

Very organized, but I don't have matching containers. I reuse everything so I avoid committing the "single use sin," but every single item has a place and I know where everything is, same goes for my cabinets. Nothing more annoying than someone moving things and me ending up with 8 cans of cannellini beans or 3 Kens Balsamic because the spot was empty when I looked.

A place for everything & everything in its place:cloud9:

We use that term too!

All these people saying "there's not much in there" blows my mind. Mine is organized, but full - to the point that I started buying buying smaller milk cartons to save space. :rotfl2: (Just one more reason I suspect the configuration of shelves in mine is not the most efficient!)

It's just me and my sister and we eat dinner at our parents' house most nights. 😄
