Male, no suits. I have a sports jacket that goes with slacks which I might have to wear once a year? In my circle people don't get especially dressy--even for weddings and funerals.

Women- a couple of dresses from past weddings over the last few years. I’ve only worn them once and then just stuck them back in my closet in the basement. My daughter needed a dress for a wedding last summer and she actually looked great in one of my old dresses.

I'm 59 now(man) and I still own a couple suits that fit. I'm basically down to wearing them at funerals and weddings. There was a time when I was "required" to dress for work but I'm at the point now that pretty much anything goes ...sweatshirt, jeans, and hat today! There's definitely been a shift in the dress code in general ...and I was an early adopter! 😂

I have 2 suits (navy blue and black, both skirts) and I haven’t worn them in years. The last time I can think of was a funeral.

Dresses, more than 5. They don’t get a lot of wear, but most are timeless designs/cuts so they stay in my closet.

I have 3 suits that I wear for more important work meetngs.

Dresses? At least 3 dozen. More often than not I wear a dress, for work, for going out to dinner, concerts, etc. and even for going to the supermarket.

Yes, I have a lot of suits. Of course, I can't get into most of them, but I hate throwing stuff away. That said, at various times in my career I have had to wear suits to work which is why I have quite a few. I don't have to wear them anymore, so I don't.

I don't have any dresses. I don't like wearing them, never did. When I absolutely have to wear one for an event (like my youngest niece's wedding a few months ago), it's a nightmare shopping trip to find one in my size that is pretty and looks good for a reasonable price. I'm plus sized, and everything looks like a sack. I did finally find a nice black dress with sequinned sleeves at K&G for my niece's wedding after going just about everywhere else and snaffled it up. I gave it to my sister to wear to a completely different wedding when I was through with it.

I'm a t-shirt and sweatpants or jeans type. When I have to go out I'll usually buy a nice blouse and wear it with jeans and flats unless it's an 'occasion.'

I need more suits.

Any reason why was lederhosen not mentioned? Asking for a friend.

I have about 20 dresses of varying styles from dressy cocktail dresses for weddings to very casual cotton summer sundresses. One skirt suit, that I haven’t worn in years and should get rid of, and a couple of pants suits. I wear a dress maybe 5-6 times a year.

Hmmm... woman, 6+ dresses, I think?
One very fancy chiffon/lace/sparkly dress for DD's 1st wedding.
One party dress for another wedding that the one from DD's was too fancy for.
A dress-up dress that I've worn to several functions (wedding, reunion, dinner parties). This is my favorite dress and I wish I had places to go so I could wear it more often.
One work-appropriate dress that I've never worn. I tried it on because it was on a huge discount and actually liked the way it looked, so I bought it.
Three stretchy, tie-dye swirly dresses that I wear with leggings.
Hm. I sound like a dress-person, but I'm not; I wear jeans 99% of the time when I'm out of the house (and when I'm home, it's leggings or shorts, depending on the season).

I’m a woman and have at least a half dozen dresses or more. A couple for funerals, the rest for cruises. I haven’t worn them in years though, prefer pants with a nice top or sweater. My husband does have a suit, for funerals.

I am a woman who has never been a fan of dressing up! One day to come, God willing, and I become an active in person part of a church again and possibly work related, too, I will probably get a new skirt just to have one. I much prefer pants even dressier ones for church, etc to a skirt.

I'm a woman and have several dresses. I wouldn't say I wear them frequently, but often enough to justify the closet space - mostly for events at my DH's Lodge.

A mentor told me that "dresses are nice for church, not the board room"
:scared1:

ETA: I STILL wear stockings, though. This past summer was the first time I wore a dress with sandals and no hose -- I truly felt naked.
I'm a fan of stockings too. Unless it's the hottest part of summer, my feet get cold In sandals without them.

Man: I have 4 suits. (black, Navy, Silver / gray, & brown) I have Black shoes, brown shoes, and a navy and brown pair of shoes. I have approx. 15 dress shirts and 20 ties. A dress belt that is black on one side and brown on the other, buckles rotates. This pretty much covers anything I would need for all occasions. I have a charcoal colored overcoat as well.

I have 5 dresses. Last year I bought 2 casual ones and wore them a lot during the summer both to work and when we went for dinner or out with friends . I also bought a little black dress for a Christmas party that I did not end up attend but have worn it twice since. Once for a Christmas lunch with friends and 2 nights ago for a nice dinner out with DH.I have 2 others but the last time I remember wearing one was at DDs graduation 2 years ago and other before that probably to dinner or the theatre . I will be on a hunt for a new one this year for my niece’s wedding in June.

I'm a woman in my 60's and I haven't owned a dress or skirt in over 30 years. I hate wearing them. I have some dressy slacks and jeans and dressy tops for when I have to get dressed up. When my daughter got married, I told her I would rent a tux before I wore a mother of the bride dress. I wore slacks and a nice sweater or top to all 3 of my kids weddings. They know me and know that is dressed up formal for me. To be fair my son's reception was a BBQ in his backyard and my youngest got married at City Hall and raced off to class afterwards as she was in nursing school.

At my age I am going to wear what makes me comfortable and happy.

Woman - 0. I think the last dress I wore was my wedding dress. Prior to that, prom. I do NOT do dresses. It is way too feminine for me and uncomfortable. Blech.
