Do you own suits or dresses?
Tell us….are you a man or woman and how many suits or dresses do you own?
(multiple choice)

For Me….I have a 3 dresses that are so old that I have no idea if they fit anymore (I bought them for our cruise in 2007). I haven’t gained weight since then, but our bodies, as we age, do change shape in areas that are sometimes beyond our control. Obviously, I’m not a dress wearer - I prefer skirts with a nice top and even that I barely wear - we don’t go anywhere that requires it.

My DH owns a tux, but no suits. He has several sport coats and dress pants, but an actual complete suit, he has none.

These pictures were the best I could get today - LOL!

I have maybe 4 or 5 dresses, but I haven’t worn a dress in years. I went to a wedding, maybe 10 years ago, so that was the last time. Whatever is in my closet, is probably pretty dated, or vintage as my daughter would say. Lol.

I own a ton of dresses - all for cruises - I have standard black dress for funeral and couple that can be job interviews or weddings - but as standard rule I HATE wearing dresses and only wear them on a cruise or at Disney going to a nice dinner otherwise I like the homeless look - sweatpants or leggings ratty shirt and sweater because I’m always cold !!! 🤣🤣

I own two dresses, but I haven’t worn them since a friend’s wedding in 2018. Unfortunately, due to Covid weight gain, they don’t fit me at the moment. 😩

I have one black dress, suitable for anything from semi formal to funeral, depending on how I accessorize. My last job was a jeans and tee shirt kind of place, so I don’t have any other dresses, suits or skirts.

Male, 50 and I've never owned or worn a suit other than a tux twice at proms and once for my wedding.

I had a sport coat just after college I wore for job interviews.

I shovel my driveway in 25° weather in shorts and a thin flannel as my "jacket" as soon as I get home from work. If I had to wear a suit, or just a sport coat, I would literally be leaving a trail of sweat on the ground dripping from it.

I used to wear dresses all the time for work meetings. A mentor told me that "dresses are nice for church, not the board room" so over the last 20 years, I've worn them less and less.

In the last year, I've actually bought two for family events. I also have a favorite one saved back -- It's black with purple decoration and looks really classy -- plan to wear it for my father's funeral (he's 2 years into a 1-year cancer diagnosis, but starting to fail).

I still only wear pants/jackets/professional stuff for meetings.

DH's a musician and has a tux, tails, and military mess dress. He's got two suits, and probably 6-7 jackets. He's retired, and wears them less and less every year. Nothing new in at least 8-10 years.

ETA: I STILL wear stockings, though. This past summer was the first time I wore a dress with sandals and no hose -- I truly felt naked. I'm so old.

A woman with 50+ dresses lol! From spring to fall that is mostly what I wear, lots of summery flowy dresses. I wear them sometimes in the winter with tights and boots but not very often. I LOVE Lilly Pulitzer dresses and have a handful, can't afford to shop there too often.

Woman, 60+. I have two dresses. One black suitable for dressing up for a cocktail party, or dressing down for a funeral. Simple. One flowery one that I like but don't wear much. DH used to have a suit but it no longer fits. He generally wears our DS clothes if we have to go somewhere fancy. Both my DS have nice suits and dress shirts because they both are in music and have a lot of concerts.

I am a woman and have several dresses that fit and a bunch that don’t. I also might have a suit or two left over from long ago jobs where I dressed more professionally.

I’m a woman and I don’t have any dresses. I’d rather wear slacks than a dress anytime and if we get an invite to a wedding where they require you to dress up, I don’t go.

I'm a woman. I own dozens of dresses. They all fit. I've purged all of the old stuff from my 20s/30s that's too small or hopelessly out of date.

I'm in executive management, so I have to "dress" for work. So Spring - Fall, I wear a dress nearly every day to work. In winter, I wear slacks and blouses with cardigans. I don't do suits because I don't like them, but I do have a few sports jacket separates that I'll wear with my dresses (especially at conferences).

My DH is also in "executive" management. He has tons of suits and slacks and sports coats for work.

Anyway, I have to buy a new evening gown in the next few weeks. WE'RE GOING TO A GALA!!!! So excited. I haven't bought a new evening gown in 20 years, yeah, it's been that long since I've been to a formal event. Last time was a wedding in Vegas back when that was cool..... Yeah, I threw that sleazy red dress away a while ago.

I'm thinking modest, navy gown with cap sleeves and all the beads. Matronly even.

I’d have to go physically count to know for sure but the number is easily in the dozens. Work ones, casual ones, summer ones and many festive party/cocktail ones. I’ve know I’ve got a business suit or two in the closet somewhere but I can’t remember the last time I wore both the pieces together. A dress or skirt/blouse with a jacket or cardigan is perfectly appropriate in our boardroom.

I've got a couple of suits, only one of which I ever wear on the rare ocassion that I need to. My other one is probably pretty dated, but I always liked it.
