I am ignorant of how eating a banana specifically sounds...please describe. :listen:

It’s hard to describe but it’s almost a sticky sound. I have flashbacks of feeding too many kids mooshy bananas and it’s just turned me off them completely. I don’t eat banana bread or anything banana adjacent. I don’t even like the smell or anything banana flavoured. Nope nope nope..

I like them slightly green. It is hot now, so when they do turn brown I can make banana bread.

Anywhere between green and slightly brown

Just ripe enough to get the peel off - still a little starchy rather than soft and overly sweet. Can’t even stand the smell l when they start to go brown let alone eat them. And am I the only one who has noticed how fast bananas ripen/over-ripen these days? I swear they didn’t used to do that.
Sometimes I swear I buy them unedibly green (as that's all that's available here) and by the time I get home from work the next day they are turning brown.

My preference is perfectly yellow to just a tiny bit of brown spotting, but I'll eat them until they're fairly brown. Not a fan of green at all, but I can handle just a touch of green amongst the yellow. Far better to be overripe than underripe in my opinion, because there's not much sweetness to a green banana.

thank goodness for shredded wheat and honey...makes a black banana go down when at the bottom of the bowl..had one last night...one again in an hour...maybe some whipcream this time

That means your store isn't exposing them to the right amount of ethylene gas before placing them out for sale. Costco is notorious for this. I don't buy bananas there anymore.

If I come home with bananas at all, my DH refers to them as "potential banana bread." :rotfl:

Slightly green is best, although all yellow is okay. If brown spots I won’t eat them, DH will. There is a very small window of opportunity for the way I like them.

They have to be slightly brown or they do not taste like bananas to me. :thumbsup2
