Do you require the ceiling fan to be on when sleeping?
If yes…what speed?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..Yes - I most definitely need it on all year.
Medium speed in the warm/hot months
Low in the colder months
I’ve only been this way since my hysterectomy. I went into that surgery hating the ceiling fan on for sleeping & always cold at night, and came out of that surgery needing the ceiling fan on because I’m horribly hot at night to the point that I can’t sleep through the night because of it - it’s awful!

I used to like having a ceiling fan on, but as I got older I don’t like it.

Yes, absolutely! Ceiling fans are a must in the south. Even in the winter.

Nope - always cold and with my neck injury I can’t risk getting that cold my muscles freeze up and I get a big knot in one - too painful - I used to enjoy the fan but not anymore !

I have come to "tolerate" the ceiling fan on low just because it's just too hot lately without it.

In general, though, I hate both air blowing on me and white noise. I absolutely can't have it on high.

We have our ceiling fan on all summer, most of the fall and spring. Our kids both have their fan on high all year.

My bf ex husband had a pedestal fan blowing in him full force all night. I hated it. Glad not to have to deal with it now.

Don’t have a ceiling fan in my bedroom. The only one in my house is in the kitchen. I sleep with AC when needed. (Old house, no central air, just wall units in the bedrooms and main living area.)

I don’t mind a fan, ceiling or floor, blowing on me full strength all night. Maybe I got used to it as fans were all we had when I was young.

I don't usually like air blowing on me and fan noise is annoying, but I'll use the ceiling fan on really hot/humid nights in the summer (we don't have central air). The fan speed depends on just how gross it is. The fan in my bedroom is super quiet, especially on the low speed, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I have one and use it only when I start to feel hot in the middle of the night. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it bothers me to feel air blowing on me.

I don't require it on.......but we run our bedroom one on medium all spring, summer and fall. It is off in winter. It does not make noise.
The guest rooms are only one when people staying in them want them.
My office has it on in spring, summer and fall. It is one of the hottest rooms. Air circulation helps a lot.
The family room the same.....spring, summer and fall (our hot months).
DH's office.....not sure. I think his is on high, but it isn't always on.

Our current home doesn’t have one; I wish it did. Previous homes have and we ran it year-round; changed the direction of it depending on the season. This is with a portable A/C in the room in summer. Now we use a regular fan but it’s not as efficient as a ceiling fan. Being accustomed to the air circulation and white noise, we really miss having a fan going when we’re visiting somewhere or in a hotel.

DW is in charge of the bedroom fan (which is never on, because she gets cold easily) and the thermostat (which is set 1 degree below the point I begin to sweat). I get the living room fan.

It may not be an equitable division, but I chose not to die on that hill. :D

No ceiling fans in the house. AC works well. Don't need blowing air on either of us. We do keep furnsnce/AC fan in the ON setting all year, 24/7, circulating all the air in the house.
