I donate but never buy. I have looked buy never seem to find what I like in my size. I also don’t like going through racks of things to find things. Kind of stresses me out. 😂 like things nice and organized.

My eldest daughter often goes to thrift stores with friends But mostly browses.
This is a big reason I don't thrift, or as @RedAngie mentioned, shop at Marshall's or Winners either. I don't shop much and when I do, I'm almost always looking for a specific type of thing. You can really never count on anything in particular being there at any given time.

Thrift Store yes, Goodwill, no. I donate if I have anything to Salvation Army. I work in a factory so need junk work clothes all the time. Can always find shorts and t-shirts in there for $2-3.

I won't go into Goodwill. Dad said never to do anything with them. Grandma was raising 3 boys alone working in a bar all his life and when she humbled up for some help, Goodwill told her basically don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. Dad cried when he was 16 and was able to work at the grocery store when they gave the employees a turkey for Thanksgiving. It was the first time he and his brothers had a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

I don't any more but did when I was dropping a few sizes and didn't want to spend money for a size I knew wasn't going to last. I used to love shopping at a local vintage store, you know 30s and 40s style clothes. I also used to like to shop at thrift stores for exercise DVDs. I don't work any more so have no need for any more stuff.

DH and I enjoy looking into thrift stores when we're on vacation. Seems like there's lots of good stuff in places where vacation homes are constantly being emptied out. They willy-nilly get rid of very nice things. The ones near where we live require way too much digging, so I don't bother.

Yes, I am the same with Winners. I bought thing for the kids when they were younger but rarely for myself. Too much clutter.

I used to shop there, but they closed the Savers stores that I used to go to, and the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores that I've been in are simply awful. Cluttered, dirty, stuff piled everywhere. Books heaped in piles with no attempt to sort them out. I can't help but think the clothes and furniture are crawling with bedbugs so I don't even want to touch anything, let alone take it home.

I do buy from thrift stores, especially Savers. Goodwill does not care about the condition of what they take in and sell, so one has to be careful and check everything. Last winter I bought a brand new winter coat for $10 that sells new for $200. I do not buy shoes or bottoms, only tops, household items, and books.

A few times. The end of last season I needed to get some more kaki shorts as we were going to beach in October. No one had any left I could wear. At least none I was going to spend $50 on. Found three pair at Goodwill in perfect shape. Paid a total of $7.50
