What was the last year you bought a new car?

For Me…..This year, as in a few days ago. We also have a 2022 (mine) and 2019 (DH).
We bought DD19 @piglet1805 a new Bronco Sport on Saturday - her old car had to go due to ongoing transmission problems. With her 2 1/2 hours away, we need her in a car that will keep her safe and not break down. Now we have peace of mind and a third car payment - LOL!

Our Ford Fusion is now 11 years old. We plan on buying a new car when we get back from South Carolina. Leaning towards a new Camry.

Traded our small SUV for another Honda Odyssey van. We couldn't pack what we needed for vacation otherwise!!

Third Odyssey we've owned and love it. We are proud minivan drivers!

2016. Acura MDX. I loved my 2002 MDX (favorite car I ever had), this one is fine just not in love.

Dh’s car will likely become dd’s car when she turns 16 next year. It’s a 2006, so dh is due for a new ride. Not sure what he’ll go with.

I own a 2018 Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid. I leased it for 3 years and bought out the lease when it expired. The reason I did so was that the new model was essentially the same as what I had. No real improvement in mileage or range. When they do build a new one that has much better electric range, I may think about getting a new one. The problem I have with the pure EV cars is that I live kind of in the boonies. All told the population is close to 100K in a 30 mile radius, but it is mostly small independent villages (PA) so there are no public chargers available and last I checked, only two paid Level 2 chargers in the whole area.

The last new car was my husband’s 2015 Chevy. I drive a 2011 Chevy and will continue until it’s necessary to replace it.

Prius in 2010 -- a piece of junk.
Honda Odyssey in 2006 -- a true gem; best car I have ever had; hope to get her to at least 200,000 miles.

My 2014 Hyundai Sonata turned 9 years old in late March and just passed 76,000 miles.

I only buy used. I bought my last "new to me" car in 2019, it's a 2014 VW Passat. I suppose in about 5 years I'll be looking to buy a 2022 Passat or Audi A4 (about the time I'll be giving the current vehicle to my daughter).

We used to buy new, our first vehicle purchase after we got married was a 1976 Chevy 4-wheel drive truck for about $4000. We also bought a few others new over the years. Then as vehicles started getting more and more expensive we began buying 1-3 year old vehicles instead.
