Elton John’s birthday was this past weekend on 3/25/2023 - he turned 76yrs old
Which leads me to ask…..

Are you a fan of Elton John?
If yes, have you seen him in concert?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I love Elton John - I’m a big fan!
We did see him in concert once, about 26 or 27 years ago. A group of us went - we got a limo so we could really enjoy ourselves (didn’t want to drink & drive) and we had fantastic seats. I would have loved seeing him one more time before he retired, but concert tickets these days are insanely expensive. It’s a shame that concert tickets are as expensive as they are now.

He was everywhere in the 70s and I admit the overexposure got the best of me. As I got older I got an appreciation for how talented he really is.

A couple of videos by music producer Rick Beato breaking down 2 of his songs and how great they really are:

I really enjoy his music and his talent. Not of that era but learned of him myself growing up. Saw him in concert (maybe 10-15 years ago) and was impressed how he played for 3 hours without a break and only a few sips of water at the piano.

I never listen to secular music anymore, unless it’s just to hear it in passing, but Elton John was a big part of my misspent youth. I’ve never seen him in concert, although I have seen the other two of my biggies from that era several times each (Billy Joel and Rod Stewart). I’d go if I had the chance, but it’s unlikely to ever happen now. Oh, and I did love Rocket Man - by far the best of the movie semi-biopics that all came out around the same time - Taron Egerton was masterful.

One of my all time favorites - have much of his music and have seen him in concert once later in his career - still had a lot of energy, and so much music to choose from for his performances. So glad we got to see him in person. One of just a very few 'must do' concerts on our bucket list!
