Are you celebrating Cinco de Mayo today?
If yes…..How?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..We don’t do anything :sad2:
My DH went out for Mexican last Saturday, so I have no desire to eat it again 6 days later.
Pretty boring Cinco de Mayo for us.

We don’t celebrate and I actually like very little Mexican food. But with that being said I need a dinner idea for tonight so I just might make some tacos (nothing fancy - just the Old El Paso taco kit). I love nachos but never make them. I just usually get them at a restaurant.

Sadly, this is not a celebrated day for us. (it used to be)

Our dear friends and neighbors lost their 2.5 year old daughter on May 5th. She had ATRT, a very fast growing brain tumor (she was a very happy and normal little girl until 24 hours prior to her death.) To say everyone was blindsided would be an understatement. This will now always be a somber day for us. :sad1:

I am so sorry.

I am making shredded chicken to use in enchiladas today, but we’ll have that tomorrow. Tonight is my son’s senior prom. One of the parents in his group of friends is having a parents party after they leave for prom. Should be fun!

We dont' do anything for it, but maybe we'll pick up food from our favorite place this weekend. We tend never to go out on 'holidays,' or weekend nights, in general, just too crowded.
DD and her friends are going to the Taylor Swift concert tonight, so that's enough craziness. (and it'll be raining!!!) hope for safe travels there and back. Don't like driving on these types of holidays either

Generally, we do like Mexican food, but we let the rest of the neighborhood celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

We are planning on eating out at a local Mexican restaurant tonight, kind of by accident. My parents are coming down tonight, and we usually go to that restaurant when they are in town. Since it is Cinco de Mayo, we will try to get there a bit earlier than we normally do.

Not this year. When our hockey team is in the playoffs we host viewing parties in our driveway with the neighbors. Sometimes the parties are themed keep things interesting Many years we have had a Cinco de Mayo themed one. Lots of fun. Our team didn’t make the playoffs this year so no hockey parties. Our daughter is graduating college tomorrow so we are headed there later today and have a dinner scheduled but I don’t think it is Mexican.

We eat Mexican often as it is my mother in laws favorite out to eat food.

As a result I am not going to wait an hour or more to get seated on Cico de Mayo. We will eat somewhere other than a Mexican restaurant today.

I always thought it was a made up American Mexican restaurant drinking holiday until a couple years ago when I looked up if it was a real holiday anywhere other than America.

It is only celebrated in the State of Puebla, Mexico.

Turns out it is a celebration of a win by the Mexican army against France in the Battle of Puebla. A battle that France avenged a year later.
