I hope your preparations are going well.

When was the last time you attended a work Christmas party?
This party can either be your work party or someone else’s work party.

For Me….In about 6 hours it will be tonight.
Before tonight it was probably 5 years ago - DH’s other job, before this one, didn’t do a Christmas party.
My job doesn’t do a Christmas party because it’s just my boss and I, so he takes me to lunch and we’ll do that on the 23rd.

Years ago. I do remember some very special ones when I worked at King Soopers in Colorado. That was 40 years ago! I'm surprised I can remember them! :teeth: :santa:

Not since my 20s and then only once ! Christmas lunch otherwise no place I’ve worked for does one - so it’s been a very LONG time and I’m ok with that !!

My work had a Christmas lunch the last few years. My company was sold recently and of the few of us remaining, many work from home, so no party this year.

A long time ago, I was teaching in NJ, and some teachers had an open house and I went. That’s as close as I came to a work Christmas party. :santa:

Growing up, my dad’s work had a Christmas party for families, and I remember having fun and getting a gift.

I try to avoid parties like the plague. As an introvert, they make me very uncomfortable. The last one I went to was 2017, and I only went to that one because I was up for Employee of the Year (which I won). I had to dig out the award to check the year on it.

The previous owner usually held our holiday parties at one of the theme parks, and I always went to the Disney parties. One of my favorites was the year we had it at Epcot. We had dinner in a private function space in the Living Seas, then we attended the CP, and then had a private dessert party on the island between the UK and France to watch Illuminations. That was a nice evening.

My corporate holiday party was yesterday. Mid afternoon until early evening. They resumed after skipping in 2020 and 21.

Tomorrow night is a district party. Technically I’m a corporate HQ employee but my physical workspace in in one of the district offices and I’m invited.

No work, so no party to go to.
I was self employed, so never a party,
last one for DH's company was probably 20 years ago. They had great parties.

I have been retired for 14 years, so it’s been a LONG time since I attended a work Holiday Party. We had them decades ago, but not in the years leading up to my retirement in 2008.

I'm a teacher and we used to have big staff Christmas parties and people's houses, but haven't in years. I can't remember exactly the last time I went to one, but it has been quite a while ago.

I will attend two this year. One luncheon for the whole courthouse yesterday. And then next week my office will have our own luncheon with white elephant gift exchange. I skip the gift exchange.

2019 was the last night time Christmas Party. They are hopeful next year they can return to it. I’d be okay if they didn’t.

We’re self employed and it’s just us so no party to speak of.

I worked for a big accounting firm as a temp in college. They threw an unbelievable party every year. Formal, sit down dinner with dancing and door prizes and lots of drunken partners doing crazy things.

My jobs after that had parties that were more along the lines of potluck in the break room on the last working day before the holiday.

About a year ago my husband’s company had their party at a local country club. This year his company just had it at their office. I was glad as I didn’t know anyone at the party.

I retired in 2019 and I was invited to the work Christmas party that year. They always had White Elephant gift exchanges with the ever popular "steal a gift" exchange. The more people who stole a gift, the more fun it became. :)

My group at work had a Christmas/birthday lunch yesterday. We celebrated two of my co-workers' birthdays (one from late November, and another upcoming in late December), and played Dirty Santa as a group. The company-wide Christmas party is this morning at the office, but I am teleworking today.

My team is having a virtual party on Tuesday. There are 3 of us in the US, in TX, NJ and PA. The rest of us are in India and the U.K., so virtual makes more sense.

We had ours last week but I did not attend as it was the same day as my daughter’s band concert. I went to a work dinner last year.

Ours was on Wed evening, I attended. That was for the whole company, my department (5 people) will have a lunch in January since it has been hard to nail down a date when we're all in the office at the same time.
