Today I'm wearing a brand new pair of ADORABLE Kate Spade shoes that I have been coveting from the Neiman Marcus catalog for months. (They're sold out now and I can't find a pic online or I'd post. They're a sandal style, about a three inch heel with an oversize bow across the top of the toestrap.) They went on sale last week so I ordered them. I did hesitate for half a second as they are slingbacks. I own two other pairs and can't seem to keep either on my feet for more than three steps, but I thought perhaps it was simply cheaper construction. THESE shoes certainly would be better, right? Nope. I got three steps out my door this morning and the freakin straps have already slid off my heels! I can walk in them as mules, but I just hate that the stupid straps won't stay up. Otherwise, they fit perfectly and look great!

I've tried all kinds of tricks on my other shoes - adjust the strap looser or tighter on the one pair that's not elastic, putting the fuzzy side of a piece of velcro on the inside of the strap where it meets my heel, etc. This morning I tried putting some of my "Foot Petal" insoles in (they are AWESOME by the way) - I have the small ones that just go under the ball of the foot to keep it from slipping - but no dice.

So, ladies, what is the trick to keeping slingback shoes on your feet? I need help!!

Double sticky tape baby! Just kidding though you could try it if you wanted. I am one of those unsightly people that wear flip-flops with every outfit, so I have no problem with keeping my shoes on! ;) lol! Good luck with keeping your shoes on!

I've actually never had that problem. Could just be that the shape of your heel isn't right for them. There are a few styles I can't/don't wear because of the shape of my feet.

So sad, they sound cute. :sad2:

I'm seem to have a problem with sling backs too. They just don't want to stay put! Must be the way our foot is shaped, or maybe the way we walk?

are you sure you bought the right size? :confused3 i've never had that problem.

I always have the problem. I believe it is the shape of your heel that is the problem. If it doesn't stick out enough or if you have a thin foot versus a "chubby" one, there is nothing for the sling to hold onto.

Yup, its the shape of the foot and the way you walk. I have no problem with slingbacks, my sister walks out of them. You might need to try something different, sorry. :(

Well, shoot. I was hoping I had just missed one of the divine secrets of the universe and there would be some miracle solution out there!

I know I bought the right size - I always always always wear a 6. I do also have a "thin" foot, though not enough to need a narrow shoe. I suppose I'm just destined to wear slingbacks as mules. Maybe I'll just cut the straps off entirely - they go up under the covering on the inside of the shoe, so it could be done without being noticable. :: sigh ::
