I am very excited to be planning a trip for our family to Disneyworld in June. It will be the first trip for many of us and as of now there will be 14 in all.

I called today to find out the exact day of our 180 mark which will be coming up next week. I wanted to make sure I had the exact date so I didn't miss it. I guess I thought this might not be too unusual a question because it suggests you call ahead to check on this in the Unofficial Guide. I also had a few other questions to ask. Well, I told the Disney dining rep my dates and asked him on what day I could make those reservations. He proceeded to tell me I could go ahead and make them. I was really surprised and emphasized to him that I was not staying at a Disney resort and are you sure you are taking reservations for those dates. He said yes. He began taking my reservations but on the third reservation, I mentioned the day of the week and I guess that caused a bell to go off in his head that told him we were not on the same page. For some reason, he had thought I had said January instead of June. So then he had to drop back and punt and say that I was right to begin with and that my reservation window hadn't opened up yet. So then I asked him my first question again. When DOES my reservation window open up? He ended up giving me the right date but even when giving it to me, he was not as definitive as he might have been. He said it should be on the 23rd or 24th, not definitively, you may make reservations on Dec. 23 which is in fact the answer to my first question. All that to say, I kind of got the feeling that I knew more about the reservations than the person working for Disney. I am happy however that I have my answer and can’t wait to start making the reservations next week! It’s like the countdown to our Disney trip has begun! :cool1:

I make it a practice not to use WDW-DINE for anything other than actually making reservations. They give incorrect information or just don't know the answers more often than not.

I prefer to do my own research first and only use the dining line for making reservations as well. I trust my internet search capabilities more than some of the CMs. ;)

Thanks for the link!
