Sliders?

I've been seeing this commercial hawking a cooking contraption and they are talking about cooking "sliders," but what I see looks a lot like hamburgers.

Are hamburgers called "sliders" in some parts of the country or am I missing something. I've never heard of them.

Sliders are teeny hamburgers as far as I can guess. Basically just a few bites and not at all a full size burger.

Yes thats what they are called here too. They seem to be very popular lately. Fridays and Chilli's have slider commercials.

Bobby Flay just opened a Burger Palace here and he has lots of different sliders on the menu.

I guess these things must have some sort of a cult following. I can't see messing with something as good and sacred as a good old regular burger. Then again, I do tend to be stuck in my ways a bit.

That is a bit of an understatement.

I can eat one or two WC sliders but my husband grew up on them here in Chicago. My step-dad is from St. Louis and he is an addict as well.

A lot of places are putting sliders on the appetizer menu. I know the Cheesecake Factory has them and I think places like Fridays and Chilis too.
