Please don't say that the slide at HH is closed for the season! I will have a very ticked off eleven year old who has a goal of going down every slide Disney has & we will be there for Thanksgiving. Does anyone know for sure?

I was at HH the week of Oct. 15 and the slide was closed. BUT, when I asked the CMs about it, they said they would open it if I wanted to use it. (I did not have children with me on the trip.) There were so few people at the pool that day, they said, that they closed the slide and didn't have the lifeguard sitting out at the lifeguard station. I have no idea whether that's the policy for this time of year, or whether I just had some very nice CMs, since that was my first trip to HH. By-the-way, I found all the CMs at HH to be very nice and helpful.

Just what KMarie said....they do that lots of time early in the morning during the slower times of the year. But all you have to do is ask and they will open it right up.

In the late fall and early spring at HH it is funny to watch the lifeguards sit in their chairs shivering in 70 degree weather fully clothed while folks are swimming all around. Sort of like the situation at WDW in Dec, Jan, and Feb. Steam rising off of the pools and the guards in sweatsuits.

I was a lifeguard for 7 years at a local water park (similar to Typhoon Lagoon...wave pool and all!) It always amazed me to see people in the water in early May when all us lifeguards were decked out in layers: swimsuit, T-shirt, sweatpants and sweatshirt and a wind breaker too! We'd always carry an extra set of warm clothes b/c going in for a rescue was all too common. There's nothing much funnier looking than a dripping wet fully decked out in warm clothes lifeguard with a rather sheepish looking child that missed the "Warning: 10 feet deep at end of slide!" sign. :D

It's at the main resort pool, which is heated btw. :)

I just returned Nov 7 from HH and the slide was open on days that were not too chilly.
