Sleigh Ride at Fort Wilderness

We did this when our kids were young and they didn't enjoy it. It was too dark to see anything. It was so quiet we didn't talk much because we didn't want to disturb the driver.

Years ago it used to be at the Wilderness Lodge and the route it took was down a dark path and back with nothing much to see. The past several years it has been at Fort Wilderness and is definitely worth it!

We have done it several times to "kick off" our trip during the holidays. It gets you in the Disney/Christmas spirit. The Fort is know for their Christmas decorations at the RV sites and the loop they take you on is ALL decked out for Christmas. They also play Christmas music, along with the jingle of the sleigh bells. The Fort has a very festive atmosphere!!

It can only accommodate 4 people and the cost did go up this year to $64 from $60. It runs every 1/2 hour starting at 5pm. Will be fun for the kids and nothing "stuffy or adult" about it now!

We have decided to do this our first night at Disney instead of purchasing park tickets to use for a couple of hours....64 bucks doesn't seem to bad in comparison! : )

To add park tickets for us was about $10 per person. Much cheaper than $64 per person for just a short period of time on the sleigh ride.

We took the wagon ride that is offered, and it was about $8 per person, IIRC. We enjoyed it. It toured FW and we got to see a lot of decorations. There are about 20 people on the wagon, it is open air, and is first come first served, and there are two rides per evening. They last 45 minutes.

Yes, it is wrong! We have one booked for Dec 4 and had to prepay. It's definitely $64 total!
