Sleepovers- do you let your daughter go?

I do seriously wonder if my kids friends knew we kept guns in the house how many would still let their kids play with ours. I mean you'd think the dead animals hangin' on the wall might be a clue...

I am sure you are wonderful people, but no my child would not be dropped off at a home with guns.
I do ask if their are guns in a home. I have asked my friends, just to be sure.
How do I know someone would be as safety conscious about it as I would like? I don't and I especially don't if I don't know the family well.

We have not had the sleepover thing come up yet. but I will let my dd have her friends sleep over here if she wants. there are a select few friends I would let dd sleep at their houses, and ONLY because I know the families well, the mom the dad, the sibs, and I know who comes and goes at their homes.
If I don't know a family well, NO i would not let my dd sleep at their house.
call me paranoid, but I would rather be paranoid.

What is sad, so very very sad is your need to be insulting. It is one thing to discuss a topic you disagree on, but to start insulting and name calling is rude and accomplishes nothing. We can discuss without being rude. Insulting only confuses the issue.

Just in your few posts on this thread, you have managed to state that I am a two-faced paranoid who makes blanket arbitrary rules. It's kind of odd that my one rule on sleepovers has led to so many assumptions.

You stated that you always respect the other parent's wishes, but you haven't shown any respect or tolerance of the other parents on this thread. Go back and read your posts. The only thing that you have really discussed is your fond memories of sleepovers, but after that, it is just insulting.
