The old and feeble prince uses his last remaining strength to reach Aurora and kiss her. As they cry together when she realizes what has happened, he releases her and gasps his last few breaths. She refuses his release and professes her life-long love, and as his eyes close and the last breath leaves his body she cries and kisses the old man. But a light shines similar to when she awoke and the prince is brought to life and transfigured into his younger self because her love was so true and pure. They embrace and then ride together to defeat Maleficent who is aghast at the power of true love's kiss. The kingdom is freed and the loving couple live a long happy life together.

So it is both the prince and sleeping beauty whose kiss of true love awoke their beloved.

A King protected Sleeping Beauty and while doing so he had a young son who grew up into a handsome prince and was deeply in love with Sleeping Beauty whom he had watched over all his life. When finally a man, a young prince, he kissed her to no avail. After tears for unrequited love, and in an act of selfless love, the smitten young prince vows to protect her for the rest of his life until her true love came. A few lonely years for the young prince after fighting off those that would harm Aurora, the old prince was released. He rode his horse to sleeping beauty, explained the story to the young prince, and kissed Aurora. She awoke and after a tearful and sad reunion he released her from any obligation so she could find true love, especially since they didn't know each other really anyway and he has had all these years to think about it and decide what to do. He introduces her to the prince who has protected her. When she finds out what he has done for her all these years, she is moved, and her heart is moved to love. The young prince defeats Maleficent and sets the kingdom free.

But all is not lost for the old prince! He goes off with the kind lady that made food for him in prison and would sneak nearby to speak with him. Their friendship grew to love even though they could never touch, and now, both old, they will spend their last years together in bliss, while the young prince dances with and woos Aurora. As the years go by, the young prince marries Aurora, and he and his children, and his children's children always watch over and care for the grave of the old prince and his wife who now lie side by side with flowers on their grave.

Nice, but, i like better this...
When the old man kisses her and dies, she gets desperate and suicides.
Then, they live happily in the afterlife, forever young.
