In celebration of the Sept. 9 Special Edition Disney DVD and video release of Sleeping Beauty, the Magic Kingdom® Park is hosting a special pre-parade tribute. The Pre-parade runs through Sept. 30, 2003 and takes place at 2:45 p.m., prior to the Share A Dream Come True Parade, and leads the parade through the entire parade route.
The castle float features Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Flora, Fauna, Merryweather and Maleficent, as well as 10 young Guests selected each day to ride on the float as "Honorary Princesses of the Kingdom."
Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora escort the children, who wear princess hats and wave wands at onlooking Guests during the parade. Participating children also receive a certificate autographed by the Disney Princesses, and a set of Mickey Mouse ears embroidered with the words "Honorary Princess" and the child's name.
The pre-parade is replacing the regular Grand Marshal offering until Oct. 1, 2003.

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knew how the 10 guests get selected to be honorary princesses? My daughter (as would any three year old) would absolutely love to be a part of this! Is there a certain area you should be in before the pre-parade starts?

Thanks,
Amy

do you think I could somehow disguise myself to look like a child again?;) That would be too cool! Well, I am sad we will miss this, as it is my favorite movie. If someone gets pics of the float can you post them?

Sorry, I don't know. The info above is all I have from my Disney Sales Rep.

I know people on this board have said that just being friendly and talking with CMs has gotten them in other parades...and I think they select people early in the day. I seem to remember someone posting they were invited to be in a parade by a CM they were chatting with near the front of the park and were instructed on where to be at what time (many hours later).

Good luck Amy!!

Robin

Robin,

Thanks for all the great tips. I would have never thought they would ask in the morning for people to participate in the afternoon parade, but that makes sense! Anyways, I'll try to steer my daughter towards some CM's to say hello and just be cute :D, but I'm not going to go out of my way or anything. I think she'll have just as much fun watching the parade, as she is a huge Princess fan!

Take care,
Amy
