Sleeping arrangements

Hi,

I would like some advice (or rather my hubby would!!).

He would like to know whether we can ask for 1 queen and 2 twin beds instead of 2 queen and a day bed in the Yacht club.

Our teenage daughter and son are 13 and 14 respectively and would prefer their own beds.

Does anyone know if this is possible?? I can't find anywhere that we can do that. Do single beds even exist in the World that is Disney?

the only rooms i've seen at the yacht club have 2 queens and a day bed..

the wilderness lodge has rooms with one queen and a a set of bunk beds...

i don't think the YC has that configuration, but i might be wrong..

but if you have 2 queens and a day bed, then one of your kids could be in the queen and the other in the day bed...

I know we used it, but it was so many years ago, i just can't remember.

i guess it was ok though. otherwise i suppose i would remember, right?

The only resorts with singles (well bunks) are certain rooms at WL & AKL and the cabins at FW.

The one bed villas at OKW, BLT & AKV have a sleeper sofa & sleeper chair.

Wow!!! Taller than mine, who is only 5'10! How our kids got so big I have no ideaa!!!

We had a quick look at prices for AKL at Kidani Village, in case we could upgrade or transfer our hotel to another place, but nearly fell over.....................

The price for the only villa available for the 2 weeks in August we were there was £18,500.....

It was 3 bed, but really!

It gets harder to work out sleeping arrangements in Disney the older the children get. I looked through all the possibilities for our next trip. I even had the measuring tape out to see if my son would fit in the fold down bed in POFQ. 63" - what if you curled up in a ball? Maybe not! We also were interested in the Yacht Club having stayed there a few years ago. We were told we could request a room with a day bed but there was no guarantee for a family of 4. In the end I have booked for a 1 bed villa at Old Key West with the sleeper sofa and chair. It's funny I tried to convince them that they could have their own beds off-site but they would rather be on sofa beds on site rather than comfort off-site.

Yacht and Beach Club have two different sized day beds. One is only good for a child and personally I think someone of 6 feet would really struggle on the full size one. I'm 5'5 and slept on it one night. That was enough. You definitely can't ask for single beds at Yacht Club as they don't have any at all. You also cannot expect to be guaranteed a room with a day bed of either size that's down to the luck if the draw and families of five will be prioritised. Just saying this so you have realistic expectations. The fact you want it doesn't mean you will get it. You might be better with two rooms at a moderate. We have had to book a one bedroom at OKW for next summer so our teenage son also 6 feet and teenage daughter can have separate beds.
