Sleeping 5 in a Stateroom Made for 4

My family is headed on our first Disney Cruise (or first cruise evere actually! We'll be on The Magic) this fall. Four of us (me, my husband, 7 year old and 5 year old) are booked in a room with a navigator's verandah, but instead of booking a 2nd room, we booked my 9 year old in our friends' room.

The Disney booking agent said he could sleep in with us which I was glad to hear because I didn't want to feel like we were sneaking around or breaking rules.

I'm wondering if any of you have slept a fifth person in your cabin with beds for 4?

Should I bring a mat or air mattress? (Is there even room for that?)
Ask for some extra blankets and let one of them make a little nest on the floor?
Put two boys in one of the bunk beds?

Thanks for helping me brain storm!

We have a GTY 05C. Maybe we'll have some pixie dust sprinkled our way by way of an upgrade!

I just reread this, and I'm confused. Do you have a 7A or a 5C GTY? If the 5C GTY I'd just put your kid in YOUR cabin so they know that you need space for 5. But if you're in a 7A, I'm not sure where the 5C GTY comes into play.

I was under the mistaken impression that the kid was in someone else's cabin for Castaway status.

(I also honestly thought that 7As had a max capacity of 3 anyway - so you'd be putting TWO extra people in there if you've got a 7A.)

I think the Cat 5C has a max occupancy of 4 anyway as it's the "deluxe oceanview with verandah" not the "deluxe family oceanview with verandah" (cat 4).

Gotcha. So really either way they technically need either a different cabin to legally sleep all family members. Or they need to look into 2 cabins (perhaps a verandah and an inside across the hall).

I asked this same question earlier. The OP clarified they are booked in a 5C GTY, not a 7A. But the 5Cs sleep a max of 4. None of them sleep 5.

I haven’t read all the replies. Maybe someone already mention it. If it’s 2 different stateroom hosts I will tip them both for your son. Even thou your son won’t be in the one.
