Hey all!

Brand new DVC member here! Just bought at Animal Kingdom this year and we are taking our membership for its first run in march 2013.

We were lucky to get a one bedroom value in Kidani and I was wondering if the sleeper sofa actually is comfortable. We want to invite my parents to come and stay with us but I dont want to have them in pain for the rest of the trip.

What say you?

Jennifer

Well for me personally, I would say no.

It was not even comfortable to us for one person and my Mom had trouble getting in and out, due to the way sofa beds are made.

Honestly I have never slept on a sofa bed I considered comfortable.

We brought Bill's parents on our first DVC trip and we got a two bedroom villa so they could have real beds. We took the master bedroom, naturally. We always get the master bedroom. We usually have kids in the sleeper sofas.

You may want to double check your reservation, as there are no value villas at Kidani. They are only at Jambo House.

My college age son takes the sleeper sofa and high schooler takes the sleeper chair. They say they are comfortable, but.....????

I will say when we have take my Mom and her husband with us we have gotten a 2 bedroom villa. That being said, there was one trip when we were in a grand villa and for reasons that don't really matter (it's a long story!) my Mom and husband took the sleeper sofa in the living room instead of one of the bedrooms. OMG, I thought that trip would never end!!! If I had to hear one more time how uncomfortable that sofa bed was I was going to scream (and she was being quite the martyr and refused to take a bed.....another long story!!....Mom's, gotta love them). This was not at AKV, just want to point out it might not be worth it.

My mom will be joining us again this December and she will NOT be sleeping on the pull out sofa. :goodvibes

Our DD find the sleeper comfortable, but two adults might not. I think a lot would depend on how big of a bed they share at home.

My DS 17 (6'6") and my DS 14 (5'8"), both on the thin side shared the sofabed last summer and found it comfortable and roomy enough.....my DS 12 took the chair and loved it.....

I am glad I got the king size bed....:)

DH and I spent 1 night on a sofa bed at Kidani a couple of years ago. The nicest thing I will say about it is that we were really glad we spent the next 6 nights in a king bed at BLT. It MAY be ok if there is only 1 adult and I hear that they will provide you with a foam pad if you request it.

Pick up a full sized inflatable air mattress at Target, open the bed, and put it on top. That should do the trick. I agree with the others, the sleeper is not comfortable for adults.

The sleeper sofa in the 1BRs is queen size.

I am bringing my SIL and niece next fall I hope they will be ok on it as that is all the points I can use. When we go to HH next month we stay in a 2 bedroom and we stay on the sleeper sofa and it is not too bad.

I have had my adult sister and her adult daughter sleeping in it, and neither complained. They were staying for free and that might be why no complaints, but usually I have my children sleeping in the sleeper sofas.
