Sleeper chair - can you move it?

Has anyone ever moved a sleeper chair into the master bedroom in a 2 BR villa? It would be perfect for my 6 year old, but she needs to be in our room - not the living room. How heavy is that chair? We'd put it back in the living room before we leave, of course.

Too heavy...and I'm quiet strong. It won't fit through the door either.

We had the same idea, but we were not able to move the sleeper chair to our Master at OKW. Wouldn't fit through the door.

We were able to slide it a little in the living room area but no way will it fit through the door as others have mentioned. Its very wide!

I had this same thought before our trip. We are in a 2 bedroom at AKV now and had no issues at all moving the chair into the master bedroom.

We had the same issue with a young one who did not want to sleep alone in the living room. We took the couch cushions from the pullout couch and put them on the floor in the master bedroom. We then requested extra blankets from Housekeeping to make a "bed." At the same time, we moved the big chair from the master bedroom into the living room. We always seemed short of seating. Each morning it was a bit of a bother to carry the cushions back into the living room, but it worked!

You can move it, but it's a bit heavy. We moved ours from the living room to MBR at BLT. You do need to unscrew the legs to fit it through the door opening. The legs are just the plastic nubs that you can unscrew by hand and screw back in. It took about 2 minutes to do.

Plenty of space next to the bed if you swap out the regular chair already in there.

Not to cause any flames, but moving big objects like that can damage floors, walls, door frames. This is why rooms look beat up and warn out. I've even seen people say they've put furniture on the balcony to make room in the living area. It's like nails on a chalk board for me

Nope, not the only one.

Nails on the chalkboard for me is when there are people explaining how to dismantle the furniture so it will fit through the door.

Hello people, furniture it meant to be put together, then stay together. Keep unscrewing the legs and eventually they won't stay screwed in.

Instead, if you HAVE to move it, call maintenance. They can send enough people to actually lift it, and angle it through the door. Or maybe they will tell you to leave the furniture alone.

I would hope anyone who does move it returns it to the correct place when checking out, not leaving housekeeping to deal with it.

Totally agree. And it causes damage to the furniture, too.

Please leave the furniture where you found it.

I can't imagine having a spacious 1 or 2-br villa and then allowing a child to sleep in the master bedroom with an adult couple! A child afraid to sleep in the living room is a bit of a stretch too - doesn't the child have his/her own room at home?? Count me in with the people who say leave the furniture where it is and just deal with normal sleeping arrangements. That means an adult couple in the master bedroom - kids elsewhere! If that's not acceptable, a studio might be the best choice.

I can't imagine feeling so strongly about where somebody else's child sleeps that I would find it necessary to point out on an internet forum that they are not "normal". I spent most of my daughter's 4th year sleeping in her room in a twin bed with her because she had night terrors so bad that I didn't feel she was safe alone. Maybe the OP's child sleepwalks. Maybe her child would just be scared and uncomfortable in an unfamiliar place, and wants to sleep with her parents.

I think asking if the chair bed can be moved is a perfectly valid question.

I don't think the issue is telling someone else where their child should be sleeping. The issue is moving large heavy furniture around rooms we all pay for the maintenance of in our dues and the risk of damage to the furniture and room increasing people's dues. The DVC rooms are not our homes and should be treated with respect and that means leaving the furniture where it is put. And it certainly means not unscrewing parts so they can be moved.

Bring a blow up child bed. Unscrewing furniture legs to fit something through a door seems crazy. I couldn't even push the chair a few inches bc it is so heavy.
