because of the unsure weather in March we are considering booking a park/fly hotel the night before our flight. We fly out at 9:45am on a Wednesday to LAX so *could* drive it from home if weather co-operates but not sure I want to chance it.

Looking at the Sleep Inn - it says you have to go across the street to the long term parking..... is this the airport long term parking lot or Sleep Inn's. If it's sleep Inn's how secure is it?

Any other recommendations for PSF hotels? We will need 2 rooms and parking for 2 cars for 10 days over March break. Have stayed at Clarion, Millenium (very bad experience here) and La Quinta before and would prefer to NOT stay in one of those.... wasn't fussy about any of them!

Thanks!

I personally wouldn't chance it in March-- not worth the stress of possibly missing your flight.

We have stayed at the Sleep Inn several times and have always had a good experience. The rooms are pretty basic but clean (though last time one did have a strange smell but we were tired with an early morning flight and did not bother complaining--just wanted to go to bed). The nice thing is that they start their breakfast (bagels, danishes, waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal etc) at 4:30 am so great for early morning flights. At one time they did have their own lot and we did park there without a problem though I seem to recall the last time (2009) parking in the airport long term parking.

Any other recommendations for PSF hotels? Further down there a thread about park n' fly deals for $99 at the Staybridge Suites. We fly out next week and are considering trying this as it cheaper than the Sleep Inn @ $140 (with taxes). We will need 2 rooms and parking for 2 cars for 10 days over March break. Have stayed at Clarion, Millenium (very bad experience here) and La Quinta before and would prefer to NOT stay in one of those.... wasn't fussy about any of them! We also had a really bad experience at the Millenium--phoned to let them know we would be arriving very late due to DH's work schedule--was told no problem they would hold our room. Well arrived at 1 am with two sleepy kids in tow and they had sold our room. They did get us a room at the Marriot but by the time everything was straightened out it was 2:30 am:scared1:. Other than that we got no compensation and I planned to follow up after our trip but never did.

Thanks!
Hope this helps!!

When we stayed at the Sleep Inn for 2 weeks we had to park down the street a bit in their lot(not secure)- it was a muddy mess when we came home from Florida and we had to push our van over a snow bank to get it out of our spot and meantime the shuttle driver threw all our luggage into the mud while we were pushing (we had to be able to get to back of the van to get luggage in). We dropped another couple off at the airport long term parking lot that had also stayed at the Sleep Inn- so I think they use both lots maybe depending on the length of your stay? I sent pictures of our luggage and complained - we also stopped at the hotel on our way home- they were supposed to send us a coupon in the mail for some $$ off our next stay but they never did. The hotel and breakfast was fine- the parking was not. We also had to wait a very long time for that shuttle to get to us at the airport and they were very busy which is I guess why the driver felt the need to toss our luggage down before we could even get our van out. The Staybridge Suites sounds like an amazing deal- this year we used hotwire and got the Comfort Inn and Suites for $45 a night for when we come home (late flight) and got the same hotel via priceline for $58 for our night before the flight--- we will pay to park at the airport parking- I am tired of waiting for hotel shuttles when it is so cold and usually dark and the last thing we want to do at the end of the trip- we have never had luck with hotel shuttles when we come home. Always long waits-45 minutes to over an hour- I know other people seem to have no problem with their shuttles guess we are just unlucky.

I would stay at the Marriot on Millersport....its about 20 Minutes from the airport, but you can park sleep and fly for about $80-$90 is not cheaper. The shuttle brings you to the airport and picks you up. nice rooms, comfortable and clean.

I jsut checked that Marriot and it's $205 per room before taxes for the park and fly rate. I wouldn't mind the sleep in IF we can be guaranteed that we park in the airport long term parking lot...... I haven't had a good experience yet with hotel shuttles :confused3 We've always ended up waiting unreasonable amounts of time for them after our flights!! And our return flight is an overnight flight and lands at 8:30am which will be the shuttle's busiest time.

To get the Marriott for 80 or 90.00, you need to go through Marriott. There are several threads here explaining how to do it. One of them was with my impressions after last year's stay there: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2601561

Basically, you need to have a cancellable reservation somewhere else and then try to getthe hotel in Priceline for 60.00 or so (which equals around 80.00 after all taxes). If you can get Marriott, great. If not, you go with your plan A (the cancellable hotel).

As I mentioned on another thread, I was extremely satisfied with staybridge suites last month. I am even considering it to book via the parkandfly site (trinityreservations.com) for a non park and fly trip January 1st to Buffalo. The park and fly price is cheaper than any price on the hotel website (105.00 taxes in on January 1st). Last year, we had AMAZING deals at Walmart in Buffalo on January 3rd. all those Xmas sets for 75% off.
