Slacker Moms Unite!

And yes, I'm positive we have all done slacker things. Dust bunnies the size of a small dog? BTDT. Running late, no time for breakfast, so it's "Here kid, have this cupcake." Cupcake, muffin, what's the difference?

On occasion I have been known to let my kids have cookies for breakfast-what's the difference between a cookie and a donut? My DH thinks it's terrible but if it was left up to him our children would never eat so I don't feel bad at all;)

Instead of chips...we keep cheese puffs on hand so that the kiddos are getting their dairy too!!! :goodvibes

The most perfect moms have their slacker moments, whether they choose to talk about them or not!

My child is going to his grandparents' house tonight (so his parents can run off and be irresponsible) and I realized he had no clean socks as I was packing his bag. Well, he has on dirty socks today and I threw in his flip-flops so he wouldn't have to worry about it. Huzzah for slacker moms!

OK, raise your hands if you have ever dug something out of the unwashed laundry basket for the purpose of someone wearing it again? The reason doesn't matter, and you don't have to give one.

:wave2:
The aforementioned socks that my son is wearing AND the pants I am currently wearing. Yes, I admitted it!

DD's socks. I usually do laundry at night, but this one night i had the full intention of trying to get rid of headache, took medicine and fell asleep, for the whole night. But i did pop those socks in the dryer-yes dirty, but with fabric softener hoping they wouldnt smell.

Why do you think we have a steamfresh dryer. That's been worn, oh well steam is with fabric softener then it's good as new!

I'm such a slacker my DD does laundry. We had an issue of her trying on several outfits and throwing clean ones in the wash so I said you will be doing laundry (not all of it though). DS12 does dishes. I guess I should be ashamed for making my kids have chores:laughing: I'm very evil like that.

My 9 yo has chores! He has to clean up his room three times a week, and he feeds the dogs, puts up folded clothes, and has to vacuum the living room once a week. No one gets a free ride at my house. :lmao:

 definitely done that (soccer outfit, Brownies uniform, husband's pants)

Its fun to be a slacker mom sometimes. It builds memories.
My mom fed us pancakes for supper and occasionally even cereal (we thought it was a treat). I've done it for my kids as a "treat" when Daddy's not home.

My kids have gone out the door many times without brushing their hair in the morning. They like their long hair in a braid or ponytail for sleeping, and if the morning is rushed its just left alone, sure its a little messy, but maybe next time they'll move a little faster instead of complaining that the clothes they wanted to wear aren't clean. Or they are clean but are sitting in the clean pile waiting to be folded. (OT - but I'm amazed how long the family can ignore a pile of clean laundry, if I leave it long enough eventually DH and the girls will do their own, but it can take a week, and the pile is usually pretty small by them, as they've been grabbing from the pile to wear)

And I have even punished one daughter by not letting her brush her teeth at bedtime. She was getting into the habit of delaying bedtime by being slow getting ready for bed, so finally one night I gave her a time limit and when it was up she went to bed with dirty teeth. (she survived)

Hey, even Kate Gosselin lets her kids eat ice cream for dinner once a year :goodvibes

I totally micromanaged my DS's homework, school projects, etc. But he's a freshman in HS now, and he can't take me with him to college (right? I hope?;)) So he asked us to let him do it all himself, no nagging, no checking, etc. So we did. We told him we are here to support him and for help if he needs it. His grades are not as stellar as they once were, but it's all him, his work. He owns it. I know many parents of his classmates who do all their homework with their kids side by side. :teacher:Yeah, they do better than DS, but one day they'll have to do it on their own. I felt guilty about this at first, but not anymore, even though I wish DS' grades were better. I'm sure those parents would deem me slacker, lol! :)

I will always remember my upline (direct sales company) telling me that her kids sometimes had breakfast cereal for dinner. And they LIVED. What freedom! :thumbsup2

Most nights I cook a nice healthy dinner for my family (before the parenting Nazis show up and flame me) but sometimes I'm just too tired. It took a huge load of guilt off of me (after growing up in a home where my mom cooked 3 wholesome meals every single day of my life) to realize that I probably would have been ok if I had eaten chips for dinner occasionally.

The other day after school I took them out for ice cream and totally let them spoil their dinner....and...they LIVED!

My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cereal night for dinner! Hey, it's certified with vitamins and minerals!

I mentioned this on another thread but it fits here, too...

I couldn't remember when my youngest had taken a shower:scared1:and before he left for school I have to admit that...I...ummm...that...I FEBREEZED MY SON!!!!:eek::eek:

:lmao: :lmao: Love it!!

My kids haven't had chips for dinner, but my older one has them for breakfast sometimes. :rotfl: Chips and salsa, that is. She hates all breakfast foods known to mankind (except bacon) and I figure tortilla chips aren't much different from cereal and probably even have less sugar ('cause face it, kids eat more Lucky Charms than All Bran).
