Hi everyone,

Has anyone flown with Skyservice?
Can you give me the good and bad on this airline.
Should we ask for specific seating?

Thanks in advance

They are OK but remember they are a Charter Airline and can change their flight times.

The one time we flew them, they had the stopover in Tampa and we were not allowed off the airplane and stayed on the tarmak longer than expected since they were waiting for a passenger that did not show up!

If there was no other choice..........

I flew Skyservice to Cancun last August and was pleasantly surprised. I had always flown Air Canada and was kind of nervous about flying on a charter. But it was a great flight both there and back! I found that the air in the plane was much fresher than Air Canada and as a result, I found that I wasn't as tired as I usually am when we fly to Florida. The seats weren't the most comfortable but they were okay for the 2.5 hour flight. Our flight out left right on time and the one coming back was delayed in Toronto, but the pilot made an effort to hurry back and we were only 10 minutes late arriving at Pearson. We had a movie on the way there and a different one on the way back, which made the flight pass by quickly. I think they served food too and it was quite tasty! Unlike the Air Canada flight I took back from Orlando last Oct when they ran out of chicken fingers (which we had to buy) after serving 3 rows in coach and the only thing left were these dry sandwiches (which we had to buy too!).

Thanks for your replies.
From what you both have said I would imagine that they
are a lot like air transat.

They are almost identical to Air transat. I've flown on both a few times to the Carribean. Fairly squishy compared to AC or WJ. They served a box lunch but our flights were 4-6 hours. They also charged for soft drinks but coffee and tea were free. Unless something has changed, they charge for preselecting seats. The one good thing I can say though is we've never had any technical problems with them and have also flown pretty much on time.

Just flew with them and found everything to be just fine...no infligt meals but you can buy snacks...we just ate breakfast at the airport and had a light snack on board...inflight movie too...flight was on time. Basically no complaints here!

Hi,

I flew SkyService last time and I wasn’t really happy with them. No nightmares but not great as far as communication goes. I don’t get stressed much about travel though.

The only real problem going out was my ticket said Transat not SkyService so I called to find out if I should be looking for a SkyService Counter or a Transat Counter. They told me Transat, which was wrong so I waited in a long line then had to go find the right one. I made it in time though, the flight was about 45 minutes late leaving. The weather was fine both ways.

The night before I was coming back I called the airline to get any updates the night before around 10pm. I got a recording that just said flight blah blah blah has been cancelled. Nothing else. It was 10pm and I couldn’t get a live person on the phone. So I just went to the airport the next morning and figured I’d sit there until they put me on a plane! There was no one at their counter when I got there but they came about a half hour later and booked us on a flight leaving about an hour and a half after the one that was cancelled. So I called the driver who was picking me up in Toronto to tell him I’d be late. What they didn’t mention was that it was no longer a non-stop flight. We flew to St. Petersburg and sat on the tarmac there for about an hour then on to Toronto. I was getting a tiny bit impatient I’ll admit, they left the door open the whole time and it was very hot and there was no one to ask questions of.

So… while not a nightmare I think I won’t book again unless I really have to. I am sure many people have had excellent flights. This is just one experience. I’m kind of jinxed with travel though… did I ever tell you about the time I spent 19 hours in summer… in Atlanta in a winter coat? Next time…
