Skyliner with a wheelchair?

Are you allowed to bring a wheelchair on the Skyliner? I am guessing the passenger would need to be able to transfer and then fold up the wheel chair. Just wanted to make sure before we book a Skyliner resort for someone who has a wheelchair in their party.

There is a separate queue for mobility devices to board the Skyliner at AoA/Pop, CBR, Epcot and DHS. The gondola will come to a complete stop for boarding and unloading at these stops, no need to transfer.

At RIV the gondolas don't stop but everything slows way down, and the CMs can stop it if necessary.

Great! Thank you! I figured the Skyliner may be an easier option for them (when available) then trying to catch a bus each time at a non Skyliner resort.

My family has ridden the Skyliner multiple times with my daughter who uses a wheelchair.
As lanejudy mentioned, it’s totally wheelchair accessible. Each station has a dedicated accessible boarding/unloading area. There are signs directing you to the correct area and CMs are directing guests also.
At all the stops except Riviera, a cabin is pulled out onto a small bypass track and is totally stopped for load & unload. After loading, the track opens to connect the cabin back to the main track.
Riviera has a dedicated area, but the cabin doesn’t totally stop, just slows way down. We did not have any difficulties getting on and off there.

Right on! Thank you guys. Very helpful. I definitely think it would be easier to ride the Skyliner than having to ride the bus.

It's a lot easier than the bus. We fit a powerchair (whill) and a single stroller. The gondolas are quite big.

The only place we had an issue was RIV, because it is a mid-point. All the other stations have a special endpoint and it's very slick and convenient.

You could fold it up and take a regular car if you wanted to, I would think. Maybe. That wasn't really an option for us, but I don't see why you couldn't. Then again, maybe not, because they use the blocks to make sure the chair is secured.

The blocks are not used on manual chairs that have brakes. They just ask us to set DD’s brakes
