Skyliner Gondolas

Has anyone heard of an expected end date for the Gondolas? I heard a popular vlogger speculating fall but I'm wondering if they were just guessing or it is actually expected to be completed this year.

I thought they werent expected until 2019 but that could have just been an assumption

There is speculation that they may be ready a little ahead of schedule, but only by a couple of months, if that.

Does anyone know the estimated speed of the Skyliner gondolas, when complete?

Apparently, travel distance from Hollywood studios to Epcot will cover about 2 miles and will require at least one change, at a station, from one line to another. If speed is 3 mph, then when you count in the station change, you are probably talking about 45 to 50 minutes. How attractive would that be?

It s nice to take a slow, leisurely trip once in a while, but after doing it a few times, people might not find it so interesting. But maybe it will run faster, or slower.

It's way more than 3mph. Speed varies on different installations, but it will probably be between 11 and 14 mph. The longest hop will be between Epcot & Riviera, and that should be under 10 minutes.

I'm guessing travel time between Epcot IG and DHS or Pop will be around 20 minutes.

Thank you very much. That is good information, and it gives me hope that if the speed is adequate, so that it works well for transportation, then maybe it will eventually be extended throughout the park.
