Skyauction win at Vistana Resort

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or start a new thread.

My mother purchased a floating week in the Fountains II section for pennies on the dollar on eBay. I've stayed at the resort once in the Cascades section and loved it.

Anyways, we're checking in on Friday, 12/29. From reading this, it doesn't sound like Fountains II will be available with a Friday check in. Will it be Fountains I, or luck of the draw? Is there an opportunity for an owner of Fountains II to request Cascades or Lakes?

Also, I'd love to hear from anyone who may have spent a NYE at the Vistana. I have kids 5 and 7 and am not sure if I'm brave enough to try a theme park on NYE.

I'm also a Fountains owner. No, you will not be able to stay in the Lakes or Cascades if you are using your Fountain floating week. I highly doubt they would honor a request for a stay here, but you can always try. I seriously doubt it though.
Also, as you stated, Friday check-in is for Fountains I only. Sat/Sun gives you a better chance of getting Fountains II. But even Sat/Sun you will still stand a chance of getting Fountains I.
I have never stayed over NYE. I'm sure Vistana has something in the way of activities planned though. I have stayed over Thanksgiving and Halloween and there were special themed activities/meals. Enjoy !

Hi, well next week we are leaving! Yet I am a bit anxious now after my phone call with Vistana. I called today to RE-CONFIRM my request (newer section) that I put in two weeks ago which was not a problem. Today, the rep stated she does not have the request and cannot take it as we are confirmed in the Palms building by RCI. From what I gather that building has not yet been renovated. I can't imagine staying in a dirty, moldy unit for even a day. Any ideas?? I did leave a message with Skyauction to see if they can help also.

We check in next Friday 11/30. Stayed there last Thanksgiving on a skyauction win and we were in the Fountains. We loved the location, had the pool and playground out our backdoor. The unit was a little dated, but clean and no bugs. We had trouble with the bathroom door in the master bedroom and maitenance came quickly and fixed the problem. We loved our stay so much, came home and bid on another. Can't wait to be poolside at the Vistana in just over one week. Especially since we now have snow on the ground here in Western MA!

Unfortunately RCI reservations do get lowest priority for requests, but that being said, I cannot understand how the Vistana rep could not even entertain a request ? I would call back Vistana and ask to speak to a supervisor. You are going at a slower time of the year for Vistana, so I find it hard to believe they are booked solid.

True, the Palms has not been renovated, but I don't feel you'll get a dirty villa. If you do---demand that the unit be cleaned from top to bottom. I'd say more likely you'll get a unit that appears dated. If you smell mold, ask to be moved immediately.

Also....you can try filling out the Diamond Lane online request form. Put your RCI # (if you have one---not sure how Skyauction works ? Do you get to see the RCI # ?) in where it says "reservation number" and send it.
