I am very interested in Skyauction. Their proces seem great. How exactly does it work? We are in need of a place to stay from Sunday July 8 - Saturday July 14. We would like a 1 or 2 BR that sleeps 4 and that includes a kitchen and a washer/dryer, close to Disney. Can you make it work when travelling Sunday-Saturday? How do you know the specific dates you want to travel are included? Thanks for any help!

Have used them many times, we have used in Orlando at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and Sheraton Vistana Resort, repeatedly with no issues.

ALWAYS ALWAYS read all the fine print, top to bottom. There can be upcharges for specific dates. There can be $20 fee or a couple hundred dollar fee. On hotels you can find a per night fee.

Yes, you can check in on Sunday at some places but you will likely be paying for the full week, but no reason you can't check out early. When you open a resort scroll down for check in dates ... if you get the 8th, scroll on down if there are upcharges for that week. I have often needed a night or two extra so I use a hotel for that.

You can Buy it Now and be all set, you can bid and take chances to save a few bucks, some are final sale but some offer an insurance for an additional charge just in case. I have purchased that once when I had someone ill in the family. Didn't have to use it.

Get on their email list. They offer certificates from time to time at a really good price that are redeemed through resortcerts.com. You can see exactly what is available for the dates you are interested in before you buy.

Be very careful which resort you bid on. Some are much better than others. Read reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp so you have a good idea which resorts would be best for you.

Inventory and pricing constantly changes upon demand.

Skyauction works best for those traveling off season. Summer is busy, so you may not be able to get a great deal. With summer surcharges, the cost per night is approaching what a condo in Windsor Hills would cost.

Do you remember offhand how much their insurance was? I know it's based on the total amount of purchase, but is it a percentage or a set fee? Thanks!

I want to say it was around $40-50. I'm not sure that it wouldn't have been cheaper to do it via an independent like I do cruises. I only bought it once because my MIL was ill.

That's kinda what I was wondering, if it would be cheaper to do it through somewhere else. Thanks!

I bought Skyauction though eBay. We leave next week Thursday for our visit. We got a 3BR/3BA unit at Worldmark Reunion Resort from June 15-June 22 for $550. At the time, I did not know it was Skyauction's eBay ID. When I paid through PayPal is when I found out. The only minor drawback and it is extremely minor, Reunion raised their resort security deposit from $400 to $710. No big deal because we got back what is not used.

I have some questions:

When do they add new listings?
When's the best time to look for something for November? I've not been able to find anything great lately.
Do they still do the 1 hour sales? If so, where do I find them? Every time I click on Deal of the Day, McAfee blocks it and won't let me open it "it's too risky"
