skyauction certificates

I am so excited. Last Tuesday Mid-October showed up and I was able to get 2 weeks (exactly what I wanted)! 2 2 bedroom rentals...hoo hoo

If anyone sees anything for Celebration World Resort for Dec or Jan...Please let me know...

As of right now...nothing. I was hoping to get it for my folks as they have a dog that goes everywhere with them.

Can someone help me understand a little bit more about getting deals through skyauction? I thought they had changed the getaway weeks????

We love visiting Orlando (have with the kids three years and additionally the marathon for a few years) but we have now the good fortune of having companion passes through Southwest and will be able to go many times this year. How's the best way to get a good weekly rate?

Many thanks!!!

sorry didn't see it.

the home away are still a pretty good buy - the extra is only $195 now - it use to be zero.... that say - others have discovered them and their prices are high. Over a $100 - if you can wait a bit - they should go back down.
(does not mean they will)

at the end of the year - don't remember if Nov, dec or Jan - skyauctions offers a great deal - you buy the week for under $200 (or it was) and you can use anytime in the next 15 months. (ones sold last year quit April, 2009)

would wait for that again if you can!

---------------

the first two weeks of Jan are finally showing up.

Celebration world resort is starting to show up in October - still nothing in Nov, Dec. So PhotobearSam you still need to wait.

unless you can change - there are several in Sept - even some 2-bedrooms at CWR.

Sky-Auction sounds like a great way to get a condo for a good price. Could someone give me some info on how this works?
Thanks

This is effectively surplus/distressed inventory from RCI, one of the two large timeshare exchange companies trading in Orlando. Basically, things that RCI does not expect any member to want, either via exchange or rental, and cannot rent any other way, eventually makes it to skyauction.

You will have the best luck with skyauction if you are willing to travel during slow seasons (i.e.: not summer, holiday, or spring break weeks), would accept "less popular" resorts, and are willing to take a smaller unit. You can get 2BRs, and you can find weeks during busier travel times, but the less flexible you are, the more luck you need.

I bought several of the get a way weeks at the Skyacution Holiday sale.

I made resevations several weeks ago but have not received the "package" in the mail.

I called Get Away Weeks again lats week & was told they would send out a duplicate package.

Anyone ever had this happen?

The 1st one we are using is for the beginning of June & I am getting nervous.

the letter does not say skyauction - but RCI - you probably through it was junk mail.

pretty sure if you ask them you can get them to send you an attachment and just print it out.

that say never really needed the confirmation - always have it - mostly for the front desk to find my reservation easily.

just call the resort about 4 to 5 days before you arrival.

Getawayweeks finally is set up to email confirmations. They used to only fax or mail them. I'd call them and ask them to email your confirmation so you will have it quickly.

:confused3 I purchased 3 weeks when they had their sale. I have not been able to find a place that I wanted to stay at during the times of year I can go  I have been looking for June 7th and only the same 2 places keep coming up and I do not want to stay at neither of them! I am really getting mad. My husband has to put in for his vacation, the 7th is nearly here & we have no place to stay! I do not want to stay at Celebration or Celebraty.. which ever that one is.. I think that is the name of it. The one in Lake Buena Vista doesn't seem too bad but that isn't coming up for my date, the one off 192 is.. I don't plan on doing Disney.. only Universal & that is a bit of a hike.. beside the fact, like I said, it doesn't look too nice. It charges a 3.99 "resort fee" and they do not even have free internet in the room .. I am not too happy with my certificates right now..

That's too bad. I drove by Celebration World on this trip because my parents have a dog and they want to do Disney and that resort has some pet friendly units. It was really nice looking from the outside.

I hope something comes up for you soon...How many people are in your group?

There are 4 of us, my middle one (DD) will be staying behind taking summer college courses and caring for our dogs. Also my youngest wants to bring her friend and that is another problem.. most are for a 1 bedroom, that would make 5 of us.
If I did not work for the school district and my DD was not in 10th grade, it would not be so bad, I would pull her out early, but that week is our last week. She has finals that week and we cannot request off the last few weeks of school :confused3 I am in a bind. Last year, we had no problems. I did the Home-Away-From-Home deals. In fact, each year I did SkyAuction, I never had a problem, this year just seems to be tuff. I normally have something booked by now. I usually do the condo a week and then head over to Disney or visa versa. This year we are skipping Disney and only doing the Condo.. but would love to even try to get 2 weeks in a row. If not, I only live 3 hours from Orlando so I can drive back up in a few weeks, but the problem will be my husband, he will not be able to head back up with me. We are only doing Universal... and I am thinking maybe getting a pass to SeaWorld/Aquatica.. not sure.
We have to be careful getting in a unit that allows pets. While we have dogs, my family is allergic to cats. So that sort of is a problem too.. We always have to tell them that at check in. If there is any evidence of a cat in the unit, my husband will have a bad reaction (eyes & breathing) & at times I break out in hives. We usually leave our dogs home for that reason. We do not want a unit that had pets in. I am thinking maybe the "week before" more availability will show. At least that is what I hope happens. I just worry about my husband putting in for his vacation and then not getting it. Me, I will be off all summer from June 6th to Aug 15th.. so I have no problems booking last minute.. it is just that we wanted him to come.. it may end up where he can only join us for a long weekend.. :sad1:

That happened to me in January. I never did receive a package before I went. All I needed was the confirmation number for the timeshare. It took a little longer to check in but there was no problem.

I went on Celebration World's website and they do in fact look very nice (especially compared to Celebratey), however, just as I thought, it is far from Universal. "Estimated Time: 21 minutes Estimated Distance: 15.43 miles"
as per mapquest. That is too many miles to travel every day twice a day for me, maybe even 4 times a day if we decided to take a break mid day. Gas is too expensive. I think I will hold out a bit longer to see if anything else comes up that would be a little closer in that direction (if not, then I will go with that one). I didn't want you to think that I was saying that one was not nice though.. thanks for your info...:goodvibes

Oh god no...i did not think that...I was just hoping it was nice because my parents are REALLY picky.

I hope something comes available for you soon...It sucks to wait.

The amount of options on skyauction is less and less every year. The secret is out.

Let us know if you find anything.

I know.. the secret is out ;) and when mapquest says 21 minutes, they are not counting on the horrible traffic back ups that are always on I-4 between Disney and SeaWorld exits   They are only going by "normal traffic". I figure if I had to stay there, I would always just cut thru Disney & then shoot up Palm Parkway/TurkeyLake Rd...milage it maybe more, but time might be shorter (less traffic sometimes ;) ) but then that might mean more gas....:scared1: can't win either way...:headache: I might have to cut out my mid-day break...:scared:

Finally got my RCI confirms!

I will be doing the long trek to Universal.

I can't complain about the driving because if it wasn't for the SkyAuction sale & the $55 air fare I wouldn't be going at all!
