Well today i waited in for the engineers to come and fit sky+ and move the exsisting box into my room, they arrived and asked what rooms etc and then walked off, the next thing i know is they are up in the loft, fair play, but it would be nice if they asked before they walked over the whole house, then the drilling starts on the outside of my bedroom window, then there is an almighty crash, i just assume the engineer dropped something,i go check and all my ornaments and mirror are smashed in pieces on the floor!!!:scared1:

Needless to say i wasnt happy, i went and informed them and they didn't care one bit! They anncounced they had finished and after getting all their details etc they leave...i go to the use the box and the volume and mute buttons don't work...so Angry!!:mad:
 
Did they not even say sorry?:eek: I would get right on to Sky and create a stink. You should get a few months free subscription for that. I hope they didn't break anything too valuable or sentimental.
 
Thats awful. I hope they will compensate you. When it's working though you'll love sky+.
 
You may need to set the remote to your make of TV. Should be a setup menu on Sky with all the different codes.
 

Yeah i've tried that Tim, the code isn't on there and all of sky's computers are down at the moment, so i think it may have to wait till tomorrow!

I phoned sky, sky didn't send their own engineers it was another company so their going to get on to them and their meant to contact me by friday! I'm well annoyed!
 
Wow! A Sky engineer managed to get shoe polish on our newly laid carpet, he pointed it out and offered to get the carpet cleaned - I managed to clean it myself.
I would definately speak to Sky, I think they contract out alot of work and they need to know what is happening.

Sky do contract most of their work out. When we decided to get Sky Broadband we had no end of problems. We were given a date for installation and they didn't even bother to turn up. After spending hours on the phone to them they eventually set up a new date and to be fair they did turn up that time.

BTW Sky+ is great when you do eventually get it. We moved our old box into DS's room and hardly ever see him now he has it in there. Only problem is that if you subscribe to Setanta (for the golf !) you can only get it on the Sky+ box. There is separate installation charges for each box apparently.
 
Oh thats dreadful, I hope you get it sorted Emily, when the engineers came to do mine they drilled a hold in my bedroom wall and forgot to put sealent in it, my bedroom had the most dreadful draft coming in through the hole, took me seven weeks to get them to come back out and finish the job off properly.
 
How awful! We had Sky plus installed last week and i love it!
