first the cost question....
for a week condo win it will usually be...
your bid + 195$ +15$ (processing fee )...opt for the federal express "shipment" of your document since the email attachment they send to you is in a format that is hard to print OUT... ( as far as i am concerned this 15$ processing fee is "gravy" to sky auction if they email you the "document" )
secondly, where do they place you ....
you will probably be at the whim of the resort as to where you are placed but you could check out the website for the resort to see if they have a number you can call to make requests ( the only problem being, you are not updated as the "person" coming into the resort until about 2 days before you arrive ...up to that poing you appear as some code related to RCI )
the above being said, we had a problem last year when we went to celebration world...we had "won" a one bedroom FULL kitchen condo
when we arrived, they had assigned us to the "lesser" one bedroom side of the LOCKOUT which had only a "partial" kitchen and was more like a HOTEL room than a one bedroom condo...we went back to the desk to complain....they said they did not assigne the units ...that was done by RCI...
so on the phone to RCI, who state the assignment is done by the resort ...to which we reply ...we have contracted for a full kitchen and only received "partial"...after about an hour of phone calls....us to RCI and RCI to the resort we did get a larger unit with FULL kitchen
it probably helped that we were RCI members, but i would stand my ground if you are assigned to a lesser UNIT .....follow through even if you are not an RCI member ...you can still call to complain about your treatment
by the way, we were not the only person who had this "trick" pulled on us, there was another couple there who had bought a bonus week through RCI and were assigned to a lesser unit...they too were accomodated once they called RCI...
that being said, we would never exchange into Celebration World if we had a chance to using our Orange Lake timeshare
hope this helps ..
