I learned of Sky Auction on these boards, can someone offer thier opinion. Have you ever used them, good experience and bad experiences appreciated
Thanks

My experiences with SkyAuctiuon:

Good = 5

Bad = 0

Do your research and they're a great service w/ unbelievable deals, especially in the less popular months.

I had several great experiences too.

remember you get your best deals at the last minute - 15 to 7 days before you leave.

So unless you go at the last minute - it is probably best to have a back up plan.

I can drive there - so skyauction works great for me. For people who must fly - I don't know how great skyauction works.

if you flying remember that most of the skyauction start on either a Saturday, Friday or Sunday. mostly Saturdays

I'm flying, and hoping to use skyauction for the week after president's week. I have a cancellable backup at Oribt One, $700 all-in for the week. If I have to pay $700, I will, but hopefully I'll luck out.

If your dates are firm (as ours are), you need an alternative that you could live with if you had to.
