Does the standby queue for this attraction include any live actors that may jump out at you or even grab you? (like creepy haunted houses) My daughter's friend said it does. We are hoping she is confusing this with some other theme park ride.

I think I've read that there may be jumping sometimes (I doubt grabbing), but when we went around 9:00 a.m. the other day, there was not anything like that

There a couple of spots where they may or may not be.

When we did standby in August, yes something popped out of the wall at us while we were walking in line.

Yes, there was a lot of jumping out in one queue section. No grabbing though.

When I was there last year they had a few jumping out. No grabbing just good old scare jump outs.

Yeah...we had a blast when we went through the line with the actors. They really made that LONG line tolerable.

Does this happen in the Standby and Express line?

We did this line multiple times last year. We were on edge because we heard something could pop out at us. But nothing EVER did. We all were kind of annoyed that we were on edge so much, we thought we had bad info. Now I'll have to stress it again next month.

Yes... but i feel its a little obvious where they are... If you want to NOT be surprised.. * spoilers* after you EXIT the large room with the animatronic witch... stay away from the walls on your RIGHT. Shoulder the walls on your left... Thats all you really need to do to avoid even being surprised. Sometimes a cloaked employee will randomly open and close the employee only door/ emergency exit... but that is to your RIGHT as well after the large room. If you make it to the room with the LARGE earth worm/ grub creature youve made it through any potential scares.

Have fun!

No one told me about the scare actors. We were in line and heard screaming. I saw an arm come out and tickle someone on the head. When we realized what was going on it was pretty entertaining. As the poster said above, just don't turn your back to the dark places on the right side of the line. We were standing there laughing and one peeped at us. He looked like a native warrior. The line makes a turn to the right and I think they can actually scare you twice as there are spots on either side of the corner. I saw a man shining his cell phone flash light in the opening. I guess the actor has a place to hide. It's all fun!

I really liked the addition of the scare actors to the que. Haven't been through since last fall, but if you want to avoid keep left. Having said that if you have small children that scare easy you will want to either avoid or at least warn them. When we went through last year there were a couple of families with young children that had to abort ... it's all in good fun but I can see how it would be unsettling for a child < 10.

To be clear -- this isn't in the express line, right?

I'm sure it's fun for some, but after DD17's experience with actors in a Haunted House in Wildwood, she is flat out refusing to go on this if I can't promise no humans jumping out at her in the dark.

Unless the express line has changed since last August, we went through this same area in the express line.

Yes, the scare actors WERE in the regular que (not express). I didn't go through with an express pass, so I can't speak to that. Totally understand re not wanting to be scared - you don't need to ruin a day at the park. When our girls were younger we had to avoid all kinds of stuff, learned the hard way.

you do miss the scareactor in the ep line.
but last time i did it was in early february this year

things change frequently so no idea if for ep line has changed for the SA viewing

We didn't see any in EP last December but others have said there were. My Wife would hate that so I will walk a bit ahead of her from now on.

It may be all in good fun for some people, but for some of it would definitely NOT be fun. I was peering around corners and watching very cautiously when I went through the line, but did not see any of this early in the morning.

We saw this last year and we had Express passes. The line merged REALLY early on. It may have changed since then, though.
