Anyone just skipped fantasmic and went on the other rides? Since we've been there six times, we are thinking of skipping it.

I thought about skipping this trip in October. We saw it in April of 04, but didnt' see it in Dec. of 04. I have it taped, but we will see what happens.

Well, don't flame me, but we are *thinking* of skipping fantasmic and going on some rides too. Are the rides open until fantasmic is over? Either that, or we are going to walk over to Epcot to catch Illuminations. DBF LOVES illuminations and would see it every day if I let him. :smooth:

DW and I have decided to skip it this year. We have seen it every trip and while the show itself is good it is a huge time burner for how early you have to get there to get a seat. Plus with the huge crowd always in there, I have always wanted to head out to TOT and RNRC and see if the waits are short enough for riding over and over. :wave2:

I'm skipping it this time around. I don't want to do a dinner package, I don't want to sit there an hour before it starts (or longer). I rather spend the time on the rides or attractions.

I'm also skipping the Candlelight too. I've done that 3 times and the last time was not worth it. Instead of just selling a limited number of packages, they sell as much as possible and you still have to stand in line for over an hour!!!

Saw Fantasmic once and that was enough until I go with kids.
Cool show, but there are other things to do.

Illuminations, on the other hand, we saw 4 times last trip (partially because of all the good eats at Epcot)

I could never ever skip Fantasmic it is my all time fav. show, at Disney World! It is also my best friends fav. show and her and I are going to Disney World this September together, so we can not miss it!

I skipped it last year -- the lines were crazy long, and we had more fun going on a few more rides that night.

But I'm not skipping it this year. I'll do the dinner package if crowds are heavy -- I really loved the show. I can't say I regretted skipping it, but when I saw traces of the fireworks at the end, at a distance, I was sad to miss it.

I skipped it in January...it didnt really see anything special about it. It was a lot easier to get on rides while everyone else was watching the show!

I just came back from my June trip and didn't see it. I go again in August and again in December and have no plans of seeing it then either. I think we are going to take a break from the show and do other things. I have seen it twice (the last time being last December).

Saw it once, that was enough for us (DL version much better so WDW is disappointing anyways) and it wastes so much time - perfect time to hit the rides!

*IF* you've already seen it, then yes, go ahead and go on the rides. You will get tons of rides in at the last minute (I usually just run back and forth between RnR and ToT like everyone else, hehe) and still be able to beat the crowds out of the park. I still usually do Fantasmic! at least half the time, but if you've already seen it I can see how the appeal can be waning.

N.E.D.

We've seen it every trip except for the last one. I was really lax in putting together a schedule that trip and basically said "if we make it we make it"... and we didn't make it. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE the show, but we've seen it several times, and we've got more trips planned... so we'll catch it then! BTW... we went shopping instead, lol!

We saw it last time and we are going to skip it this time.

We are skipping it too! We saw it last time and once was enough imho. Maybe we'll hit it again when the kids are older. Right now it is just too crowded and too late for them to be interested.

the kids and i love fantasmic and we see it every time we are there. if we plan on two evenings in mgm we will skip it one of those evenings, but it is a must do for us every trip. on the other hand, they could care less about illuminations.

My family was not impressed with the show and plan to skip it next time, not worth the time imo.

We have been twice and skipped it both times. DS was 12 and 14 on those trips and not interested and neither was I. I might make him go see it next time but my goal next trip is to go to every ride and show.

My family really likes this show, so we usually see it. However, if you like Illuminations better, then I think you have a great plan. Hit the rides while the rest of us are in line for Fantasmic. The ride queues are only open til the scheduled park closing, which is when Fantasmic starts, not ends. After your last ride, head over to Epcot for Illuminations.

Have fun!

Mike

we have never seen it.....I don't like big crowds :confused3 and the waiting part.....we always pass by it.....not sure next trip...
