Our girls are 7 & 8 and we are debating whether we should take them to universal. They love rides but not fast or scary ones. I had a quick peek at their website and they all look like that, nothing like Disneyland. Do you think universal has enough to offer them for the money? Thanks for your opinion!:thumbsup2

I have an eight year old daughter who sounds a lot like yours - she is timid about any thrill ride. She will not even go on Gadget's Go Coaster and complains about the drop in Pirates.

For this reason, we have yet to take her to Universal even though we live in Los Angeles. It's just too much money for her to not enjoy most of the park! Once HP opens in L.A. we'll probably splurge for that.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Thanks for your feedback!

We were there last July and noticed how little there actually is to do there as opposed to Disneyland. It was neat to see etc. but even my 14 year old boys said that they wouldn't be upset if we didn't go back to Universal. They enjoyed the rides, but I agree, they are scary, fast type rides that wouldn't interest your girls. IMO there really isn't much for small ones there. I would skip it if given the choice. And it is expensive!

it depends on the kids. when we went our kids were about the same ages as yours, and I was worried about the studio tour because of the king kong experience. but I just explained how this was were they make the movies and everything was pretend and not real. .... turns out my kids loved it. they loved the simpsons attraction, shrek 3D movie, and jurasic park. but they didn't like the mummy ride as it was too fast. Transformers was not there at the time, but I would have loved to see that. we didn't do any other attractions as I thought they were not for little kids.

so while there is not as much todo for kids their ages, but the attractions at universal were some of our most memorable and favorite of our entire trip.
