Skip Epcot With Small Kids???

I second every one else here. Our daughters just love it, and they were 4 and 18 months the first time we went.

My advice if it's your first trip, though. Save what you think they'll like the best (usually MK, but actually now Epcot for our kids) for last. Everything at WDW is great - kids will almost always find something to enjoy. And if you save the biggest winner for last, it all builds up and everything is better than the thing before. But if they start with the fantasy rides in MK and then try to do some of the more "educational" things, they may have been expecting a lot more Fantasyland, and be a bit disappointed. This is what we did the first trip, and it worked great. MK was a tremendous end to a tremendous trip.

My DS, 6, loved the attractions at Epcot. He rode Test Track, Mission Space, and Soarin'. We saw Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and visited the Living Seas. Turtle Talk w/Crush was his favorite---okay, he was the kid who thought it was perfectly fine for Crush to wear the bikini top (which he thought was a bow) when he hung out w/his buddies. He also loved Illuminations. We didn't get to the kidcot stations, but there's always next time.

We like Epcot with our 2 year old, but for a different experience. It is a calmer, more relaxing day and you will enjoy it. There is more air conditioned type attractions and in August that will be especially nice. We loved the Imagination, Living Seas, Universe of Energy, etc. As for the countries, eating your way through them is pleasant. Much better food than MK. In my opinion the lines are much shorter here and wait time is less so you spend more time DOING things, many of them with a/c. I love the character interaction when the bus comes aorund check out the show. Also, you have to see the firework show, can't remember the name, but it is awesome.

Check your schedule and see how to pace your time. I always do Epcot on a day after a late night/busy day at Mk so I can pace myself.
