We aremakinf plans for or trip at the end of may. The more I think about i I'm thinking of skipping DHS. Our kids don't have the patience for shows and thy don;t watch TV so they don't know the Disney Jr characters. Is there something I'm missing?

Toy Story Mania! Also, the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area is really fun for little ones. Meet ups with characters from Cars, Toy Story, Monsters Inc.

I wouldn't skip HS. There are so many great opportunities to meet a lot of characters there, especially the Pixar characters (Toy Story, Cars, the Incredibles, Monsters Inc). The Disney Jr Live show is great for little ones and they can do the meet and greet with Jake and Sofia and there is also the character meal at Hollywood & Vine that has Jake, Handy Manny, Sofia the First, and Doc McStuffins. My kids love the Muppet Vision 3D show, Star Tours ride, Toy Story Midway Mania, the Honey I Shrunk the Kids set play area, the list goes on....:goodvibes

My kids are terrified of characters, they are actually pretty shy and scared of strangers in general. I think they will enjoy the play area but I don't know if it's worth going there just to play on a playground and maybe ride on ride. We won't have park hoppers.

Tough call, we were pretty underwhelmed by DHS and could skip it pretty easily. But, I'd hate to do that if you've never been. We thought it would be one of our favorites. And we liked Epcot way more than expected. So, you just never know until you go.

Oh we've been there before but not with kids. We are staying for 2 weeks though so I feel like we should do everything since we have time but I don't want to waste a day going DHS if there is very little for the kids to do. We probably won't ride anything the kids can't ride.

I am always underwhelmed by DHS. We are going, but my twins know the disney Jr characters. Otherwise, apart from Star Tours for my husband and the christmas lights, I could leave it out.

If you are staying for two weeks then yes, I would go. We are skipping it this year but are only doing 4 park days. How old are they?

I would never skip HS. I love all the shows and rides.
And nothing better then ending the day with fantasmic.
Probably right up there with magic kingdom for us.

We have a lot more fun with DS at DHS now that he is a bit older. He loves the Disney Jr. show, and did even before he knew all of the characters, so I don't think television watching is a requirement there.

We love it for the character opportunities, mostly. There are TONS of characters at DHS!

How many park days are you going to have in the 2 weeks you will be there? You could plan one day to just spend the morning at DHS and have another activity planned for the afternoon if you don't find enough there to keep you busy.

The kids are 2 years and 2 months old. Right now I'm just in the planning stage to see what ticket should I buy. I know we are probably going up to busch gardens one day and we are going to aquatica probably a couple of times. Still undecided about Sea wolrd. For the disney parks I know I want to go to MK two days maybe 3 and one day to AK.

Remember once you get past 4 or 5 days on Disney tickets, it's only $10 per adult to add another day. So even if you only spend a couple hours there and do a few things, it's not like you've spent a ton of money!

At their age I would not bother. There isn't enough to keep you occupied if you can't do rides they can't and the shows. I think the only thing they would like is the playground but to be honest, there are bigger kids running around and tunnels to lose them in. DD liked it but it made me nervous. We spent a half day there because we had teen boys that wanted to do the bigger rides. This trip no teen boys and no DHS. DD is 4 and knows the characters but it just ins't worth it for the little bit she can/will do.

We love AK! DD is a big fan of animals so we tend to spend a lot of time there. Don't forget Epcot though. The Seas is great fun for a little one. Lots of places to play and explore. And they are old enough to have fun at the kidcot stations coloring.

Thanks I think we are going to skip it. We are staying offsite so with parking and the 2 tickets it does not seem worth it.

Our last trip was 2 weeks long (with 8 day park hoppers, no other parks besides Disney) with our 2 year old DS. We spent the least amount of time in DHS. We did the Mike and Sulley meet and greet, Disney Jr. (he only knew the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters) and Fantasmic. He LOVED Toy Story Mania and using the gun. While he was sleeping we rode the big things- RNRC, Tower...multiple times. He likes shows, but it was hard to time them right with his naps at that park for some reason.

There was a lot for us to do in the MK (obviously) and the Animal Kingdom kept us really busy (he loved the Animals, Lion King Show, and Nemo show...oh and the bird show was a HUGE hit). He liked Epcot mainly the Living Seas and Spaceship earth. I don't think it would have been the end of the world if we had skipped DHS on that trip.

I wouldn't skip it.There's still fun parades and some easy rides. If your kids are terrified of characters, then every park will be a problem... I would just go for the first half of the day, then go back to the hotel and have a break and hang out at the pool if you don't think there's much to do at HS

Personally, I could skip Epcot - probably even AK but could NEVER miss DHS!!! There is so much to do and see there, the experience is just so fun....my youngest DD was 2 when we took her and even though she couldn't ride 'big' rides, she LOVED it....and still remembers it all to this day..and now on her 3rd trip back this fall, she cannot wait to go!
JMO......

I would suggest skipping HS based on reading your posts. My DD was always very shy and scared of the characters when younger as well and neither are big thrill riders (DS now does RnR, but both still do not do ToT). We usually spend only a half day at HS and were thinking of maybe skipping it this year. What you can do with everyone is: One Man's Dream, Muppetvision 3D, HISTK playground, TSMM. I don't think that it's worth wasting a days ticket to do just those few things. The last consideration is the Fantasmic! show. If you want to see that, then maybe, if not I vote for skip it.

I agree. OP's posts indicate that HS may very well be skip worthy for this particular trip. There's always a next time :thumbsup2

With kids ages 2 months and 2yrs, I would skip AK.

Lion King not there
Not old enough for Yeti, Kali, Primal or Dinosaur
Tough To Be a Bug too scary
Camp Mickey - too scary for your kids
2mo old can't go on Safari (too bumpy) and really would those ages care about the animals from far away?
They don't like shows so take Nemo and Bird show out.

All you have left is Triceratops ride and Bones playground. Maybe Rafikki's train. That is WAY too much walking around for very little.
