Skinny Jeans

Uhhh, no. Skinny jeans look good on NO ONE. Perhaps some women can wear them better than others (meaning they might only get snickered at behind their back, not torn a new one!), but they are not a flattering style for anyone.

I have long thin legs and I'm close to 6 feet tall. You'd think these would look good on me, but I look like a freak in skinny jeans. I didn't look good in them when I was 20 and I sure as heck don't look good in them at 40.

They don't make 'skinny' jeans for my big butt and thighs. If they did they wouldn't be called 'skinny'. :lmao:

After seeing many people in "skinny jeans" I just had to post again. The name "skinny jeans" should be a clue for people. If you are skinny, try them out; if you aren't, move on. :teeth:

If I were to put on a pair of skinny jeans, seriously, my spare tire would be somewhere around my knees.

My DD 16, tried on skinny jeans this weekend. My DD while not very tall, has long thin legs that seem to go on forever. She looks terrible in skinny jeans. Think of leggings in denim. Even she hated them.

She bought a great pair of boot cut jeans. Doesn't care what the fashion is, she is going to wear what looks good on her. Thank goodness, her Dad would have a fit if she came home in skinny jeans. Already thinks that she wears her clothes too tight.

I hope and pray that skinny jeans are a blip in the fashion radar. If they don't look good on a skinny girl, I don't know how they are going to look on normal sized people.

I remember reading this thread a couple of months ago and said to myself......I too will never ever wear skinny jeans.

Well, a couple of days ago I went shopping at Kohl's and tried on 6 or 7 pairs of flares or boot cute jeans and none of them worked out -- not one.

So I went ahead and tried on a pair of the "skinny jeans" -- Levi's, misses size 7/8 and I LOVED THEM!!!! I bought it and it looks and feels so good! My husband compliments me and I feel so good in them.

I may want to go out and buy another pair.

Just wanted to share :woohoo: :woohoo:

I finally tried some on yesterday, and I actually (and surprisingly) really liked them! I didn't get them, though, because I'm still hung up on the whole what-shoe-do-you-wear-with-them question. Tennis shoes are a definite no, the ankle is too small for boots (and I refuse to tuck my jeans into my boots, sorry). That leaves ballet flats.

They just don't seem versatile enough to make it worth it!

I agree about the shoe thing. Yes, I can wear skinny jeans, but I can't get over my big old foot/shoe just hanging out for everyone to see! Ack! Boot cut and flares have gotten me so used to almost covered shoes that I can't stand for anyone to see my whole shoes now! It just seems so wrong... :rotfl:

I confess! I tried some on for fun. They DID fit better than the Levi's 515's (low rise, bootcut) I tried on. I think the skinny Levi's were 514?? BUT, I could not get over the shoe thing, and I have hips, so I did NOT get them. They fit like a glove and were comfy though. I also tried on another brand in the mall and could not get over the feet issue!!!

Yep, I've got size 10 (sometimes 11) big ole' clodhoppers. They do look kind of silly sticking out of narrow ankle openings! :rotfl:

Well, my shoes are a size 7 and the jeans were an 8 and my feet looked BIG! :p Even though the skinny jeans fit great, I will stick with the bootcut jeans! I felt like a clown, not the effect I was going for! I guess I could borrow DD's ballet flats and try them on again for kicks! :teeth:
