She will need good hand and arm control, good vision, and the ability to be constantly aware of what is going on around her (because lots of people dont pay attention).
Generally scooters requires you to hold down a "gas pedal" with a thumb or a finger, or you have to twist something like a motorcycle type thing. You have to hold out your arms like when driving a car as well.
If she is bothered by jerking movements, then she may want to practice... there is no headrest...
She can try an
ECV at most local grocery stores. this would give her an idea if it would work for her. I cant use an ECV because i have poor hand control, and i cannot hold up my arms. I used a manual chair before getting a powerchair.
SHe should try one to see if it works before going... that way she knows what would work out
