Skechers vs Stride Rite on XW sizing?

Do they run similar? My ds wears a 12 XW in Stride Rite's (which he really needs 12.5 now). Do Skechers XW run about the same as Stride Rite's. I also noticed the Skechers don't run in .5 sizes, would a 13 be to big? Tia

Twice a year, my kids get fitted (either at Nordstroms or a place in town). I buy one pair of sneakers, and then get cheap backups. I've found that different brands definately had different fits, and some brands are better for my kids than others. I'd get him fitted professionally, and try on different brands, to see what fit the best (and I've had my kids fitted, and not bought anything).
