Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan alcohol stops?

I know Juneau Walmart is closing now. But can anyone help me offer places my cruise group can buy bottles of wine in those ports?

I don't have specific recommendations, but there are grocery stores as well as liquor stores in those ports.

I can't imagine why anyone on a cruise would go all the way to Walmart (which was in Lemon Creek, about half way to the Valley) from downtown just to buy wine. There are PLENTY of liquor stores right downtown (sadly, along with plenty of people who have been at the liquor store--frequently and recently-- hanging out). If you are going to see the glacier, and coming out to the valley, there is a Safeway and a Fred Meyers on the way and both have liquor stores.

That's for Juneau. There are also liquor stores available at the other ports within walking distance of where you'll dock.

This is exactly what I was looking for PrincessNicchia. This should help with the concerns our group has about budgeting drink prices while watching the scenery. 4 days on the veranda gets expensive fast with room service!

never been to alaska (yet) going in july.....but the cruises I've been on in the Caribbean, always have taxi drivers at the port area, just ask one of them and have them drive you there.

If you are visiting Alaskan Brewing I think there was a Costco right around the corner, but you would need to be a member for that too work. Honesty just asking locals when you are there is probably your best bet

^^ little known trivia about costco you dont have to be a member to buy booze or pharmacy drugs.

or have someone buy you a costco gift card and you dont have to be a member.

There is a Costco right near the brewery, that would be a good bet. I can't remember if you can buy Alaskan at the brewery (it's been a LONG time) but Alaskan Brewing Company beers are the best!
