Who has one and can help me with a bunch of questions?
It seems like such a dinosaur peice of scrapping equipment but I do like it but I think I might have damaged it.
Thanks!
Rita

I actually bought mine 3rd hand from Kat and it was in perfect condition but there were no instructions.
Theres a piece called "Sizzix System Converter". When I made the Rock and Roll topper pieces for "Weird" swap all the little letters cut into that piece, Im sure there was something I was supposed to use instead. Can I replace this piece? It looks pretty cut up. I thought I could replace it.
What should I do? What should I have done instead?
Thanks!

maybe i can help Rita. they system converter lets you cut thin sizzlits on the regular sizzix machine. did you have a white block that the paper sat on with the die on top?
i was looking for something the other day and found a you tube video showing how to use all the sizzix machines and with each dies.

Yes, I have that piece too. Now what? I thought it was like a cutting board.
Could you senf that link info to me?
Thanks!

i don't know how i found it, but i'll look around and see if i can find it again.
but lets see if i can explain it to you.
are you using sizzlits (the little thin dies) or a regular thick die?

I have the Sizzlits classic alphabet. I also, not really understanding what it was, bought a pack of those clear slides that look like petrie slides. What do I do with those?
Thanks for all the help! I do appreciate it!
I will watch the slide when I get back home. Off to GS booth sales!:scared1:

The clear plastic is the real cutting board. You should always have one of them at the other side of the paper. Clear plastic, paper, die, clear plastic. Some dies cut better if the die is facing up and some cut better if the die is facing down. All the cuttlebug dies need to be facing up. So it would be clear plastic, die with cutting edge up, paper, clear plastic.

The solid white stuff is for spacing. I usually put it down first and then the above sandwich on top. The converter has three - a super thin, thin, thick. Using which combination for which die still confuses me. Always a trial by error thing with me. Some of the embossing dies only need two layers and others need all three. Weird.

Off to go look at the videos. I like videos. Thanks for finding them Holly.

The little clear slides are for the little sidekick. It only can cut the little sizzlets or tiny cuttlebug dies. I think both Holly and I have one. If you can't take it back, we can take it off your hands for you. ;)

love those videos. i'm a visual learner.
and i do love my sidekick! i think we all remember when i had to bury my first one. it was a sad day in this house. then i got a new one and i use it all the time. i especially love it for the 12x12 border dies. i have a huge love for them. i bought a whole bunch at xmas time. i just recently bought a storage box for them.
