just a ? for all you die hard scrappers.... if you had around 800.00 invested in the sizzix (large machine and 7 alphabets and about 35 other die cuts) would you still purchase the cricut??? vicki

Look at the completed auctions on ebay and see what they are getting for the same sets and dies you have, if you could get close to what you invested out of selling it there, then you could buy the cricut. You know they are coming out with Disney stuff for the cricut right? :) That is turning me more towards the cricut!

I'm planning to sell my alphabets and most of my dies on eBay and use the money toward a Wishblade.

Or a Cricut, now that they have all those great Disney patterns!

I'll keep my Big Shot and use it mostly for tags and embossing.

I LOVE my Cricut!! I bought one, thinking "ok, this is cute, and I'll use it some". I am addicted to it!! And that was before there were new Disney cartridges (which I can't wait for, by the way!!)

Based on the time it takes for me to do letters with my Sizzixs compared to how quickly I do it with my Cricut.........oh yeah, it's worth it to me.

With that as a budget I'd get a Wishblade, it cuts any font on your computer. From there, maybe add the Sizzix for the non-alphabet cuts. Lots more versatility that way.

I had the sizzix and sold everything and got the Cricut. I love my cricut. Sizzix you are tied into one size with cricut or wishbalde you can make several different sizes

I have the sizzix machine and I like it. I do not have the cricut but after hearing all the rave reviews about it and the fact that it cuts different sizes and more importantly that they are coming out with a disney cartridge I really need the cricut.

If I had a budget of $800, I'd get a wishblade and a cheap laptop. Then you're wishblade would be just as portable as the cricut with all of the fonts you ever want in any size you'd ever need. Plus you can download thousands of diecuts from various websites and be all set on diecuts too. But that's jut me. :rolleyes1

I have thousands of dollars invested in my Sizzix and I absolutely love it, but I am honestly thinking of purchasing a Cricut soon. I will always use and keep my Sizzix, but after reading all the talk here and on Two Peas about the Cricut, I am leaning more towards just doing it. It sounds like a lot of fun and sometimes I don't have the time to cut out an entire Title from Sizzix letters. The Cricut makes it look so easy and quick. I think I might start hinting that I need one for my birthday!! LOL

:)

I just got my Cricut recently and I seriously thought last night- How did I ever scrapbook without it? I really love it. The choices with the fonts are great and so much more versatile than traditional die cuts (sizing, shadowing, silhouette) and it is so much faster than using dies. I cannot wait for the Disney cartridges!
