Sizzix @ Michael's

I was at Michael's today when I ran into a friend in the sizzix aisle. ( I was looking for new dies but of course they had zero) However all of the boxes were empty!! My friend told me that people were stealing them so they had to lock them all away and you have to bring the case up to the counter if you want one. She said it was the second store she had been too that they were displayed this way.

Can you believe that??? Has anyone else Mike's done this!!

I haven't seen it at Mike yet, haven't been there in awhile, but the ACMoores near me have done similar things.

They do this now at our Mikes too. They do have a pretty good selection of dies though. I can't remember if our AC Moores does this or not.

Our Mike's has been doing this for years with the bigger dies like the alphabet set or number sets and the actual die cut machine. However, the individual die cuts are in their case still. I was told they did this with the alphabet & number die sets because some people would need one letter or number that wasn't available individually and would steal them out of the bigger set . Not sure why they do it with the machine. Our Mike's has an okay selection. I find the best online... I find the customer service not the best at Mike's so it is a pain if you buy a whole alphabet set. It seems like it takes hours to get it...

I was just at the Michaels near our home...and they haven't started doing that yet.

I noticed it at mine too. They even had the long sizzlets alphabets off the shelves with a sign saying to ask for help.

My Mike's still has them out. I am waiting for the next 40% off sale to by the Sizzix die cut machine. Remember the good old days when they had a 40% coupon every week.

Our Michaels still has everything out, at AC Moore the all Alphabet sets are locked away. How would people be able steal somthing that big?!? JEEZ@@###$$!!

I have a friend that is employed at AC Moores - they had two people come in loaded 2 buggies full of sizzix merchandise and then leave through the entrance door. Another customer saw them and reported it but they got away! Talk about being BOLD!! It was about $3000 gone!

Oh my! I just don't get some people! That's just awful!

Neither of ours (Moore/Michaels) does this yet. OurDogCisco made me go look at the set I just got for DDIL though. It would never have occurred to me that someone would take ONE letter out of the set. It takes all kinds I guess. :

Ya about a year ago th manager at my mikes told me the same story (carriage fulls) that is why at My MIKES they also put one of those HUGE sets of rolling stairs at the end of the aisle so that you have to go down by the registers - but it makes it a major pain in the but cuz you have to to turn around and go down the same aisle and go all the way around to get to the other one - kwim?

I just read that they will have a coupon and sizzix alphas will be on sale for $90
