Sizzix. . .do you use it?

I have been reading all of the posts about the Sizzix machines. I have been throwing MAJOR hints to DH that this would be a good birthday gift (I have until September to convince him). I even made him go down the Sizzix aisle at AC Moore so I could show him all of the good stuff! He, of course, was thrilled with this! :rotfl2:

My question is this: do you really use your Sizzix a lot? Do you use it more for letters or for the different shapes/die-cuts? I am pretty sure I would use it quite a bit, but I just wanted to hear from other people that they think it was worth purchasing (more ammunition to convince DH!)

Thanks a bunch! :teeth:

I use it A LOT . . . especially the alphabets and tags!! I should be getting the slide mount die cut any day (ebay)!! I got my fun serif alphabet just "won" the number set off ebay ($25)!!! Can't beat that price!!

I use mine a lot mostly for alphabets. I do have some dies that I use too.

I haven't had mine that long. I do use it a lot so far, but I don't have any alphabets. I use the other dies to add things to my pages. I try to find ones that I can use again so it makes me feel like it is more worth it. Hang around this board too long and you will buy about anything!! :rotfl:

I too have been trying to decide if I would really use it and if it would justify the cost of the dies. I'm more interested in the alphabets, but would like to have the tags and maybe a couple more dies. After reading all the posts on here, I finally decided that I'm going for it! I bid on an alphabet before I went to bed last night, but didn't get it. I'm planning on picking up the sidekick at Michaels (with the next coupon).

I've had a hard time trying to decide which alphabets I like the best. I want something kind of "all purpose" looking, as well as something "fun". I really like the new one "Roundabouts", but think I'll be able to get something else cheaper.

OT - Jackie, I just noticed Rabbit in your picture in your post. That is so awesome-I didn't even know they had a Rabbit character. Where did you get the picture with all the Pooh characters? Looks like maybe in that shop in Epcot?

Thanks for the input! I have shown DH this thread to say, "See, I really would use it!" Now we are on the lookout for coupons! Thanks again! :flower:

I am amazed at how much non-scrapping stuff I have used them for!
the kids projects for school -
signs for different things...
I probably don't use it as much as I would if I had a better set up - sometimes it is pure laziness to grab rub-ons or stickers -
but when I have my scrap-crap room I plan to set it up for easy use ;)

The way I look at it - I don't smoke. I don't drink. I don't gamble (not even lottery tix). I don't have any other hobbies (well besides this internet thing) and when you find great deals! :confused3 why not! :flower:

That is too true! I think I will pass that logic along! :cheer2: Sizzix habit, here I come! Now, is there a scrapaholics anonymous?? :confused3 :Pinkbounc

I use mine ALOT. Well worth the investment, of course it was an x-mas gift so wan't mine money per se. I use my die cuts more than my alphabet though. Everytime AC Moore had a 40 or 50% off coupon I was in their buying dies. I feel like I have alot now and haven't added any in while.
