Sizzix Die Cut Questions

My husband gave me a Sizzix die cut machine for my birthday. I really didn't want one because I usually use the computer to print stuff out and then trace on cardstock but I didn't want to hurt his feelings. Are there any dies you would recommend for me? He bought me the little script alphabet but I have no dies. I am afraid he didn't really know this expense involved in this present. Do you die cutters love your machines? Are there certain dies I will use over and over again? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I love my machine! I had my machine for 6 months before I actually opened it (I won mine at a scrapbook convention). I thought it would take up too much space and I wouldn't use it enough. Boy was I wrong. Once I started to use it, I didn't stop. My friends and I try to buy different dies so we have more variety. I hope you enjoy your Sizzix machine as much as I like mine.

I use my Tag die all the time. I also got the 4 Squares die. I was tied of punching those out, and I like embellished matted squares.
I also have the Double Heart & Pumpkin. I will use my Michael's coupons to pick up more seasonal things when I get to those pages.

I use the frames, tags and the one alphabet I have so far. I want to get one or two of the sizzlet alpahbets but I can't decide which one!
I wish they had a die of ice skates or hockey stuff. Maybe they do and I just haven't found it yet.
I wanted to add that I think liking it or not has a lot to do with your style of scrapping. I have a scrapping pal that I told I got my machine for Christmas. She had no idea what it was and after I showed her she still has no interest.

I love my Lollipop Uppercase, My paw print, dog bowl and dog bone dies get a lot of use. I also use my hearts, stars and if my mom ever gives me my tag die. I agree the seasonal ones have a lot of uses.

I just got a sizzix myself and I'm loving it so far. I have the playground sizzlets alphabet and also the multisized circles die (great for making Mickeys) as well as the filmstrip die and one of the tag dies...

I agree with the waiting to use Michael's coupons on the dies tho... I'll be using those in the future to get more alphabets...

I love love love mine! I don't know how I every scrapped without it! I wait every Sunday for a Michael's coupon so I can collect more dies. Last week I got five coupons and bought five new dies (please don't tell DH) I love my Ivy die cut, border stars, border hearts and waves the best. I just got some shells, and the flowers.

Oh Fire 14 I was just going to post a thread and ask if anyone had the dog bowl and bone die. I was thinking of getting that one because I want bones for A. Kingdom. I don't have animals do you have any other creative ideas to use it for to justify me getting it???

I use mine frequently Because I'm a HUGE Dalmatian/ lady and Tramp Lover. I use mine to add spice to my layouts featuring these pups. I even used it on my dog maze layout from F+G fest. Also I have a friend who has 3 dogs, and loves pluto.

And they're coming out with more Sizzlet alphabets, too! I want the Wordsworth "Funky Brush" really bad, but I have to wait 'til Michaels gets it so I can use a coupon, LOL!!

Thanks for all your replies. My mom asked what I wanted for my birthday and I told her the Lollipop alphabet (which required some explaining, ha). I never thought about tags, but I use them all the time so I might check Sunday for a Michael's coupon and see if I can get that. Thanks again!
