size of in room safe - poly/akl

I just read on another thread that the in room safes are very small - how small? will a digital camcorder fit? I am borrowing one and did not want to pack it all the time...thanks!

Have stayed at both, size is about 10 inches square by about 4 inches deep. Fits my personal DVD player just fine but it ain't all that big, opening is smaller than interior.

The Polynesian safe was big enough for a camera but maybe people are thinking of another resort when talking about the safe size. When we were at the Yacht Club the safe was only deep enough for a wallet and some other small things.

We stayed at Polynesian in Dec. and we fit 2 game boys, video camera, digital camera and a file folder w/our documents and money in there just fine.

here is a pic of the AKL safe (it is located in the closet) I was able to fit my portable DVD player in there along with my camera and a folder with my travel info and some money.

Yep, and it is sort of free standing rather than recessed in the wall. I'm guessing about a foot square.

I would guess no unless it was very thin and could fit diagonal.

My laptop fit into our Poly safe. It's an average sized laptop - not super small.
I slid it in diagonally.

Thanks Tabetha. I don't know if I'm even going to fool with the whole thing. I would really like to be able to check my email while I'm there, but I don't know if it's worth it. I've heard you have to get a local access number and then you get charged. I'm not sure how it works. I'm used to my PC, and I'm not sure how the laptops work (it's my DHs). Thanks!
